Tried Chipotle Again

I tried Chipotle again today since everyone said I was crazy for not liking it after trying it 2 years ago and never getting it again. I had a self titled "Chipotle Lover" order and pick it up for me. He got me Carnitas, white cilantro rice, black beans, guacamole, cheese, green salsa. Still bland and was almost $10. Now trying it twice and not liking it twice, I'm just thinking people must not have any flavorful food in general in their life, especially flavorful Mexican food that love this stuff. Even the guacamole didn't have much flavor in it. I'd seriously prefer a XXL Steak burrito from Taco Bell over this.

You're doing it wrong...you need about an ounce of chipotle tobasco sauce on each bite

Your taste buds are dead, do you eat a lot of Indian food or something?

I tried it when I was in Toronto and thought it was pretty good for what it was. Tasted very fresh which was nice. Now there is one opening right near my work, so will definitely try it again.

You're not alone. My closest Taco Bell is about 2 blocks from the closest Chipotle. The Taco Bell is always busier and I'll never go to Chipotle again under any circumstances. I can accept overpriced Mexican if it's good or mediocre Mexican if it's cheap, but I won't tolerate Chipotle's mix of overpriced and mediocre

I agree, I am not a fan of Chipotle. Thankfully, we have Anna's Tacqueria and a few other local chains that provide better and cheaper food.

Living in the LA area, you can get infinitely better Mexican on practically every corner, plus it's cheaper. I guess if you live in an area with no Mexican its good but to me it's too bland and expensive.

Yep, like here. All Mexican people stop before they get here I guess.

I've had Chipotle twice as well, and I didn't find it all that great either time. It is OK, but not great Mexican. I have a few local places that I frequent, which serve authentic Mexican food that blows Chipotle out of the water. Nothing like the delicious flavors of authentic Mex.

Look at my location, I cannot 2 miles without running into a Texmex. And please, don't tell me that "authentic" Mexican available in LA is better than South Tejas... I don't want to get vacationed...

Agreed, most overrated place imo. There is an abundance of authentic mexican restaurants here in CA and are way better than Chipotle.

i was unaware of this until about 1.5 years ago. i had been missing out for a long long time

additionally, for the novices out there who buy bowls, before you take that foil top off and dig in, shake the damn bowl like a maraca for about 10 seconds. you will thank me when you take your top off and it is all mixed up.

oh and chipotle guacamole is the best out there.

I've never eaten Mexican food in southern Texas that I can recall, but I've eaten it all over California, the southwest, and Mexico and I still think the best I've ever had is at a small restaurant chain opened by Mexican immigrants here in Indy.

I always get bowl-to-go, white rice, veggies, steak, hot, guac, cheese, lettuce. Make sure the lid is on tight, and shake it up. Pretty good!
