I tried Chipotle again today since everyone said I was crazy for not liking it after trying it 2 years ago and never getting it again. I had a self titled "Chipotle Lover" order and pick it up for me. He got me Carnitas, white cilantro rice, black beans, guacamole, cheese, green salsa. Still bland and was almost $10. Now trying it twice and not liking it twice, I'm just thinking people must not have any flavorful food in general in their life, especially flavorful Mexican food that love this stuff. Even the guacamole didn't have much flavor in it. I'd seriously prefer a XXL Steak burrito from Taco Bell over this.
It's obvious you've never been to a Chipotle. If you had, you'd know that the chicken is grilled, not boiled. Also, the sour cream is not an extra charge. Guac is, but not sour cream. And since when is a tortilla anything but bland? It's a tortilla for crying out loud.
I agree, I am not a fan of Chipotle. Thankfully, we have Anna's Tacqueria and a few other local chains that provide better and cheaper food.
You're not alone. My closest Taco Bell is about 2 blocks from the closest Chipotle. The Taco Bell is always busier and I'll never go to Chipotle again under any circumstances. I can accept overpriced Mexican if it's good or mediocre Mexican if it's cheap, but I won't tolerate Chipotle's mix of overpriced and mediocre
Not all Chipotles are equal. Some make better burritos than others. But yeah, if you think Chipotle is bland, it's not that they don't know how to season their food, it's more like you're eating way too much sodium from other food.
False, there's a place I eat at in San Diego called Ranas Mexico City Cuisine, they add zero salt to anything they make, and it tastes 10 times better than Chipotle. A good Taquerías will use very little salt, if any to season their food. People who don't find Chipotle bland probably haven't eaten at a legit Taqueria.
Chipotle isn't bland as in it's lacking flavor, it's bland as in the flavor it has completely sucks ass.
Living in the Bay Area (South Bay), we have tons of Mexican places to choose from, yet I still pick Chipotle most of the time. I agree, it is pricey.
