Trillian Astra for iPhone comes out

I was browsing Apple Apps store and saw Trillian Astra IM iPhone I really love my Trillian Astra on my computer..it is very sleek but not sure about on iPhone...anyone tried it out?

Not sure about Trillian on the iPhone but I have been using IM+ on AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, Google and MSN and it's worked perfectly for around 6 months now.

I've used trillian on my PC a few years back as a multi-platform messaging client and always liked it but like others have said, Beejive works great and it'd take some really exclusive features to get me to migrate over to trillian's app.

BeejiveIM is ok but the up and down scrolls sometimes get pause for a while when you start BeejiveIM

I got it, since it's what I use on my Windows computer and Trillian was generous enough to give me a free upgrade to Astra (since I apparently bought Trillian 3.x Pro within one year of Astra's release).

Would be nice if I could turn off the sound effects, but I think it's pretty good so far. Would've bought Beejive if it were $5 or less (the BB version was really good IMO).

Holy Crap Trillian Astra came out!?! I remember it was in Alpha testing since like 06 and I'd totally forgot about it probably a 1 1/2 years ago. I was really interested in it before I lost hope for it actually being released. I'll have to try this $5 sounds awesome.

Well I have spent the day with the app.

It is totally worth the $5 to me. I never used Beejive but compared to the standard AOL chat program it rocks.

I have six different chat accounts and it manages them perfectly. I also like the push notifications that allow me to stay logged in with the app closed.

It isn't anything earth shattering but it is exactly what I was looking for in an iPhone chat app.

I used to think the same way. Had Fring on my iPhone and all was great until it came time to set up a second MSN account under my Fring account - couldn't find an option to do it.

You might save $5 by buying it now, though. Apps usually start off cheaper, and then go up in price, so this may easily be $10 by the time the updates fix everything and add landscape. And you still get all the updates if you buy now - just sayin. Happened to me once - didn't want to buy an apps as teh first revision had some problems, and then the price doubled by the time it was working well.

You don't always get the updates. For example tweetie. The developer decided to say "tweetie 2 is a new version". And that meant that if you wanted updates, you had to shell out another 3 bucks.

Which is why I now use tweetdeck.
