I'm currently running my S1854 with the version 1.00 bios that shipped with the system. I've never flashed bios yet for fear of unrecoverable crash...but I have this persistent problem with my system whereby I am quite frequently dumped back to desktop (always in games using D3D). As a last resort I guess i'll load the newest 1.07 bios and see what happens.
Have any of you 1854 owners done this and is it recommended? I noticed that the newer bios does something to the AGP and updates "microcode" for newer processors (whatever that means..I have a P3 733) so mabye the AGP thing will solve my problems.
By the way...I have a P3V4X sitting 'round here...is it possible to switch motherboards without full OS re-install of everything? have a master and slave drive?
Christ...why can't things just work the first time!!!???
