I have read virtually every article and review I can find about my video card *GeForce2* and have never seen this issue addressed.
First, my system
Athlon Thunderbird SlotA on Gigabyte 7IX mobo
256MB PNY branded Siemens Mftd PC100
Creative Labs Annihilator 2 Geforce 2 GTS
Creative Labs SB Live MP3+
Western Digital 30.7 gig ATA66 HD
TDK Velo CD
SMC EZ Network card ( for cable modem )
Now the problem.
Any D3D game I run with triplebuffering enabled, the performance level goes way up, BUT I get an annoying flickering . Adjusting my AGP aperature to 128 seems to help (but not eliminate) the problem. No other sizes have an effect. I have tried vsync on and off. Different resolutions. Every driver none to man. Every tweak I can find.
How come I have never seen this mentioned before?
I know it is not isolated to me, because I pulled the card out and put it in my PII 733 machine and the same problem occurs. Also, this is not the 1st card. I returned an Elsa Gladiac for this reason. It wouldn't be such a big deal, but some games (motocross madness 2) don't have an option to set triplebuffering on or off, and if it is on by default, I have the problem. Also, why should I have to disable a supported feature anyway? I am already limited to AGP 1x due to the Athlon 2x+ crashing issues.
Your suggestions/solutions are eagerly awaited.
