Triple Monitor Setup Woes

Would love some advice from anybody here who is running dual GTX 670 2GB setup to run 3 monitors.

Setup:
EVGA GTX 670 FTW 2 GB connected to 3 Samsung SyncMaster S27B550 27" monitors via dvi-hdmi cables. (monitors only have hdmi inputs or vga). I have 2 monitors connected to card 1 dvi out and the 3rd monitor connected the same way to card 2, per the NVIDIA preferred setup diagram.

Using NVIDIA control panel, I am able to span all three displays and things look amazing. However, when I game I have the following problems:
1. Star Trek Online looks great on primary center monitor and stretched on peripheral monitors. Have to play it "windowed" to get FPS < 60 in 5760x1080 with highest settings. Slow in non-windowed mode.
2. theHunter runs at max settings spanned, but options interface is stretched and the cursor cannot be seen to select options. Initial in-game view is stretched across all monitors, alt-tabbing out a couple times fixes the middle screen, yet the side screens are stretched.
3. Battlefield 3 absolutely will not run in a spanned configuration. Game locks and I have to restart the computer so I miss seeing any error codes. I am really wanting this game to work most of all.

I have seen several posters stating they have the same setup or close to it and are running games with no problems. I'm sure it is just some minor tweak I'm missing. At least I hope so. Haven't gotten any helpful feedback from the EVGA forums. Hoping somebody here will have some idea that might help.

Thanks in advance

I have two GTX 470s, and can run BF3 (not max settings, but at 5760x1200 with some settings turned down).

Do you have the SLI bridge between the two cards? It would be a small piece of plastic, or a flexy thing that would connect the two cards together, to allow them to share resources.

Short of that, when you're in the nvidia control center, under multiple monitors, in order to get a game to span all 3, you need have "surround" selected. For most games, I leave it on "activate all displays" and my center one set to my main, and only play on my center screen. I set the games (can't really do it with FPS's though) to "full screen windowed mode @ 1920x1200". This allows me to go off to my left or right screen to do other tasks while I play.

You really shouldn't have too many performance issues with the 670s, so I'm thinking it is the SLI bridge that is missing here.

No, I have the SLI bridge in place. I have "span displays with Surround" enabled. Like I said above STO works well and theHunter (older DX9 hunting game) work. I think the problem might be that I had Origin installed on my primary SSD, but had BF3 install directory on my secondary spin HDD. I'm reinstalling Origin and BF3 on the primary drive now. We'll see how it goes. BF3 on single monitor, ultra setting, @ 1920x1080 is amazing with this setup. Just want to be able to run the game spanned. Hope it works.
Thanks for the input!

My buddy had trouble with 3 heads on his dual 6950 rig. Turns out there are lots of places to plug stuff in but some connections share resources so they can't all be used in the way you think they should. His solution was to use display ports (with adapters) since they use different resources.

I see you have nVidia and are not using display ports. Might be something completely different but it is a new idea anyhow...
