not entirely true, they denied human caused climate change was even a thing for at least 35 years of that.'We can't fix it so why even bother trying?'
An ongoing, 40+ year claim by conservatives.

Or we could use really bigly space lasers (we may need to ask Israel to borrow them) and zap all the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere into healthy oxygen and neutral nitrogen through dedicated prayerI have an idea!
Drones the size of an airliner that have huge solar energy collecting discs on top, like that on an AVACS plane, but much much bigger. These solar drones collect the energy into large batteries that are then jettisoned after getting full. Batteries land on the ground with parachutes. Then a drone is sent up to replenish the solar drone with empty batteries. Do this on a wide enough scale and we solve the problem for good!
I missed the part where this removes greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere? Or is your theoretical fleet of airliners just like, absurdly numerous? Seems it would take tens of thousands to have any appreciable impact on warming, and TBH, I'm not sure even then. Maybe if they're flying in the stratosphere?I have an idea!

Yes, they almost immediately switched from 'it's not happening and it's a liberal lie' to 'okay it's real but it's too late to do anything about it' all while avoiding the awkward acknowledgement that it got this late because they kept insisting it was a lie.not entirely true, they denied human caused climate change was even a thing for at least 35 years of that.
Here's the catch. Hurricanes are stronger because ocean water is warmer. Storms help moderate by removing energy from the oceans. Without that water will just get even warmer. We will already have fewer hurricanes because of the Sahara dust storm heading towards Florida and Texas.I hope El Niño will at least keep major hurricanes to a minimum. But the ocean just keeps getting hotter…
But they still want your vote. They use that same line when it comes to Jan 6. It's kinda like have frequent small earthquakes are good in quake prone areas.

How about we look forward to the next election and refuse to vote for any of these fuckers.
It's always, always, about their money. Nothing else matters.List anything that actually helps the American people and chances are republicans are against it. Helping veterans? Nah. Affordable health care and prescription drugs? Nah. Public school funding? Oh hell nah. Improving our infrastructure and communications? Are you nucking futs?!
Yes and probably most of the other books of his you can buy there including, if I remember correctly, three on Mulla Nasrudin stories.Have you read this? https://amzn.to/2h9RJfz
I think you're missing something. New normal doesn't include human society, at least not at today's version of it. There's no 'planning' beyond acceptance and general smoldering animosity towards the millions of shitfucks who denied this for decades.Kind of what I'm getting at. As I recall, 2023 was the drop dead date (I think Greta and Al Gore both stated this). If corrections weren't made by then there was no stopping it. So here we are with runaway global warming and it seems like it's time to start planning for the new normal.
I haven't heard a single mention of living with climate change, who's taking the lead on it?
I meant that Washington was an exception—the state GOP actually proposed a climate adaptation bill. Of course, most of the policy proposals were laughably bad, but at least they acknowledged the issue.I'm confused about your statement. I think you're saying Washington state is an exception in that Jay Inslee's been very much an advocate for climate change mitigation. Maybe I'm seeing a double negative that's confusing me.
Stage 1: there is no global warmingSince we've past the point of no return, isn't it time to look at ways of living with a warmer environment?
Not mine. Send them to fucking Texas so they can cool us off. Though our long term heat domes we get now will probably block them from coming here unless we get lucky and one comes in the brief moments we're in between two high pressure ridges like we have been the last 5 days or so.El Niño causes unfavorable wind shear for hurricanes. My hope is that this will prevent majors from forming.

He's got a lot of practice, and he's bound to get more.I admire your hatred of the heat.
Make that a million.Seems it would take tens of thousands to have any appreciable impact on warming, and TBH, I'm not sure even then.
I just think it's a wildly impractical idea, of the available options. We can't even get full global commitment to ACTUALLY reduce carbon output at a significant level, best we can get is "oh, we'll cut our output by half in a decade" or some other milquetoast shit.Make that a million.
All nations need to participate. Global participation is a must for the bright future of humanity.
Part of the sunlight will get absorbed by the solar panels and they can have some thermal to electrical energy converter on board too, increasing the efficiency. When we have so much "free" energy, it will reduce the usage of the bad energy sources. With time, things will get better.
Heck my last trip to the company home office in Anaheim, CA before I retired, in 2019, it was 108F in early February. Even that was abnormal from my experience living there for a few years.Amazing how man pulled this planet directly from the little ice age to such ridiculous heat in just a couple hundred years. Can't believe around 1900 San Antonio used to get ~3 days of 100+ per year. Last year we had 58.
My favorite answer from people in this situation is to wash over everything from the last few decades by saying something like 'look, nobody could have predicted that this could have happened' despite multiple people telling them otherwise. Saw it many times with COVID and this will be no different.I would love for one conservative that says it’s too late to do anything to admit that the primary reason they claim it’s too late is lack of action that conservatives directly advocated for.
