Troble Sleeping

Well, I know this isn't a medical forum, but I'd like some input on my situation if you all could spare some. As of about a week ago I've had trouble falling asleep in the same bed as my girlfriend, but as soon as I move to another bed I just fall asleep nearly instantly. We kind of have an awkward situation right now since we are having a lot of problems with our apartment. Staying at my parents place for a while, been over a month now. I have been a bit stressed lately. I mean, we have some bills coming up, like rent, that we can't afford to pay ATM, though it's not our fault. I've also become a little worried that she might be pregnant, but she doesn't keep track of her womanly stuff so she doesn't even know how long it's been. We already know what we would do if she were, but I still worry.

I just thought it was weird that if I went to another room that I could fall asleep quite easily. When I'm in the same bed as her it just feels like my muscles don't want to sleep, like I've got stored up energy and need to get it out. Well I think that's the best way to describe it.

Think it might just be stress or what?

Sounds like stress! Fear of being pregnant is a huge stress factor, and so is $ probs. sleep in a different bed if it helps.

I also think it sounds like stress ... for the moment sleeping in another bed will at least help you get some rest & avoid getting sick, but really what you need to do is figure out why you are stressed out & my first guess would be suspense over wether she's pregnant or not.

Go get her a pregnancy test and then maybe find a job? (or at least some temporary monetary relief) I bet you'll sleep better if you do those two things.

Decided to wait on that pregnancy test till this coming Friday, cause by then I know it'll have been too long.

Well, the money thing is really because of our room mates, which in total owe us several thousand dollars. Because our lease is going to expire soon I wanted to wait and see what happens with our apartment problem. We had some damage after the apartment people took over 1 month to fix a leak and it damaged a lot of our stuff that we had there. Mattress, sheets, clothes, etc. Thankfully not my computer. Since it's taken so long and a lot of our stuff was damaged we are trying to see what they can do about rent, if they even actually fix the place. They said it would be done this weekend, after my parents got involved, and if it's not done by Monday I'm gonna demand that I be let out of the lease without penalty. Cause we paid for the month that we couldn't even live there, under the assumption it would be fixed quickly, and all the damages. We only have 2 months left and the rent is $920 a month for 5 people. I think it would be fair, but to be honest I'll probably demand that anyways. If we took them to court I'm quite sure we could get a lot more money out of them than that for the health hazards that our room mates endured for a while. Actually had mushrooms growing out of the floor.

Well, it's quite normal with the stress and everything.

A very good system is to work-out before going to bed, and then taking a hot shower. Being tired and with your blood pressure a little low should put you to sleep quite easily. You can also drink some herbal products like chamomile.

Oh, and most important: get a pregnancy test. I bet you're stressed with something like that... and don't over-stress for the money thing. It's not worth it.
