Tron or True Grit

Ok, I'm going to be the odd man out here, but I thought Tron was enjoyable. Certainly not the greatest movie I've ever seen, but it was entertaining. Also: Olivia Wilde. 'Nuff said.

/agree - I don't understand all of the hate towards the movie. Maybe it's from people who didn't grow up to see the original in the theaters? At least the story wasn't as bad/campy as the original. There are a few parts of the movie which were left unanswered

Finally saw it this morning [3d of course - matinee price] - only 1 other person in the entire theater - I was in heaven! No stupid kids talking on their cell phones, no cell phones beeping or ringing, no laser pointers, nobody coughing/sneezing/hacking...

The 3d was about the same quality as Avatar - it added to the movie and wasn't blatantly over done like the latest animation movies. Could I have paid $2.00 less for the 2d version and been happy? Of course - I'll be re-watching the 2d version when it comes out on DVD [or Blu-Ray if I've upgraded by then].

True Grit - looks to be an awesome movie from the previews.

But I'd have to say TRON is the obvious answer if you're a fan of TRON else go see True Grit and wait until Tron is out on rental.

I don't hate it. I found it enjoyable and a great theater movie. My hate is towards:

-The douchebags with a crying baby who wouldn't leave the theater for the ENTIRE FUCKING MOVIE! Every single quiet scene, the fucking kid cried. There is a special place in hell for these parents.
-The jackasses who kept walking in front of the screen standing straight up. Do everyone a favor and try to bend over on your way to the bathroom.
-The shitty 3D glasses for a 2D movie
-The asshat who looked at his bright ass touch phone halfway through the movie right in front of me.

I thought it was a great visual movie, just like Avatar. I will definitely buy it for BR and enjoy it on my plasma and decent HT setup.

What do you guys want? granted some scenes were in 2D but the 3D parts were great and expanded the area. Wrather then shooting stuff into your face. Tron was a good movie don't get why everyone hated it on this forum.

Shit like that distracts from the movie not help it, though with todays audiences and limited attention span it doesn't surprise me that people were disappointed that it wasn't done like a Michael Bay film.

I absolutely guarantee you that the type of people that criticize a movie like Tron, it is not because they want it to be like a Michael Bay film. The exact opposite, in fact.

True Grit suffered from a decent amount of problems.

Tron was okay. I didn't piss myself with excitement, but I didn't when I saw the original in 1980. Everything that was remotely sci-fi got compared to Star Wars, and everything was blah.
