I upgraded the raid controller on my server to an IBM M5015 (i have some previous threads).
It supports 6Gbps; and my expander should support 6Gbps (according to the manual and specs).
However, I noticed that the RAID controller has (2) 4 port SAS ports. The original raid controller had 1.
The SAS expander has a single MIN-sas port, which breaks off into two channels on the drive cage.
Because of this; the SAS cable going from the cage to the RAID card only plugs into 1 of the 2 4 channel ports.
Since I'm trying to put 8 channels down a single 4 lane SAS port, is that why my 6Gbps SAS drives are only seen as 3Gbps?
