trouble installing xp x64

Hey. I am trying to install Windows XP x64 but am having troubles.
When I try to install it, it will get to the bit where setup is copying files but files just will not copy. It is always a different file everytime.

I am certain that it is not the disc because I have the beta version and that used to install but it does the same thing.

I have tryed using different hard drives, a SATA and a PATA but it does the same thing

I ran MemTest and got no errors

I have also reset the BIOS

I have tryed using two different CD-Roms to install

The normal version of XP will install without problem. I think this is weird because it used to install without a problem but now doesnt

Any help would be appreciated
My system is an Asus A8V, 3500+, 512 HyperX Dual Channel.

You say that the beta "used to install but it does the same thing." Did you change anything from when it did install and now when it doesn't?
I also assume you have the retail copy, correct?
The only thing I can really suggest is install 32-bit XP and run some diagnostic software.

Yes correct, I have the retail copy which doesnt install correctly, and no, the computer is exactly the same as what it was apart from a few fan changes and a fanless heatsink that has been installed on the video card. All temperatures are fine though, generally all around 30

Thanks for the suggestions but I cant see any of these being the problem. I really cannot see what the problem could really be. It certainly does sound like its either bad media or bad CD-Roms, but I just can't see that being the problem.
