Trouble reading burned cd's.

I have a Pioneer 106S dvd reader, and Plextor 24x burner. Both IDE, on separate IDE channels. Often when I burn an ISO or cd these drives will have little to no success reading the discs, I cannot figure out why. I'll go to open the contents of the disc and explorer will just hang while attempting to read the disc. They don't seem to have any trouble with regular pressed cd's. Im running Windows XP Pro w/Sp1, and I believe I have the latest ASPI driver installed (If tha matters).

Any ideas? I'm thinking about replacing both drives

can you give us more info like what are you trying to burn and what prog are you using to burn this stuff?

uh.... yah know "backup's" of games and such? I've been using NERO to burn. I really don't think it's the burn either, because these discs work fine on other machines.

Have you burned anything else, like a music cd?

What kind of CD-R's are you using? Low quality CD-R's have problems in a lot of drives. I personally recommend Taiyo Yuden CD-R's. They're sold under Fujifilm, and also sometimes Sony. If the CD-R's say Made in Japan, then they're likely Taiyo Yuden.
I've burned a lot of these Taiyo Yuden CD-R's and they can be read in all drives I've tried, even on my old double speed CD-ROM in my 486.
