Trouble starting freshly installed 2k

I just switched a new motherboard into my computer and installed win 2k. After the installation, win2k was starting for the first time and immediately after the "starting up" windows screen, the screen went black and the computer seemed to be doing nothing. I have no clue what's going on. I've tried installing winxp also and had the same result. Any help?? Thanks

It may be a video card driver issue. You might try another.
Does it give you the F8 prompt as it boots windows? If it does, you might try using it to get to the boot menu, and go into windows in safe mode and see if it makes it in then.

Thanks for the help redbeard. I tried starting in safe mode and it did. Then i tried to install a driver and restarted the computer. However, it still got stuck at the windows starting up screen. Maybe i'll try swapping the video card. Hopefully that'll help.

Try starting in safe mode and then uninstalling all the items that were different from your previosu setup....NIC, video....hopefully your chipset is the same...Intel to Intel and not Sis to Intel...or something like that...

Video card was it. I swapped in a different video card and it worked. Thanks for the help guys.
