Trouble with new build.

So I just put my new computer together. It starts up, I put in the Vista disc. It goes through the whole "Windows is loading files" screen and then to the screen with the microsoft logo and a progress bar. The motherboard beeps all the way through the progress bar, and at the end it gives me a BSOD with error code c0000219.
Now while putting this thing together the only real gripe I had was how horrible the Intel factory HSF is and moronically designed it is. I'm pretty sure I busted some of the plastic clips at the bottom but I got it to stay tightly mounted in place on the processor.

After this, I checked the bios, the CPU temp reads 104*C. Way too damn hot.. and it even reads that after first turning on the computer. The bridge tempurates seem normal and fine, around 30 C for all those. I know the CPU's temperatures are a misreport but I'm trying to figure out if this is the CPU or the motherboard giving me the problems here because i really want this thing running so I gotta know what to RMA with Newegg.

Some specs:
DFI Lanparty DK P35-T2RS motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale
8GB (4 x 2GB) G.skill DDR2 800 RAM

Help greatly appreciated in pinpointing the problem. Thanks in advance.

First thing you want to check is your motherboard manual to see what the constant beep usually indicates.

Aside from that, I looked up that error code and it looks to be trouble with installing Windows. It seemed with some other people having the same issue they had a bad installation disc. Do you have another disc you can try?

However I do not believe that a bad disc would make your mobo beep like you describe. I hope there are not multiple problems!

Thanks for the reply Jester. The install disc looks fine to me.. perhaps testing it in this machine i'm using right now should help me on that front. I'm wondering about the CPU temp being so high in the BIOS. What that might be an indication of. I looked in the manual for error codes and beeps, they had nothing.
I certainly hope there isn't more than one problem either because this was something i'd been wanting to do for so long and now it just is, bleh.

If you damaged the clips mounting the CPU cooler then chances are the HS isn't mounted properly. So the beeps are probabaly from teh BIOS trying to tell you the CPU is getting too hot. So replace the CPU cooler and use one of the after market bolt on brackets to mount the cooler. But i'm pretty sure the beeps you are hearing are from the overtemp warning.

So it's possible that the CPU is really getting THAT hot?

Edit:
I just tried it again, turned it on and went right into the BIOS. It was reporting the CPU at ~75-80*C. Then after another failed attempt at installing Vista this time with a different Blue screen saying that Windows has shut down the system in order to prevent damage to hardware, it was at 104*C again.

Hmm.

Are you watching the CPU fan when you turn your system on to make sure it's spinning?

Also, thermal paste applied correctly?

Not too sure..I'm thinking about just getting another CPU cooler..since I hated installing this one and the problems it may have brought my build. The BIOS says the fan is spinning around 1400 RPM.

On a thought I keyworded DOA in the reviews on Newegg for the E8400. And just around the beginning of September around the time I bought this, a customer wrote about how the processor would report 100*C upon first booting up, and also a couple of others about damaged thermal diodes. I got one of the CPU's from a bad batch. Going to RMA. Thanks for the help anyways guys.
