So I just put my new computer together. It starts up, I put in the Vista disc. It goes through the whole "Windows is loading files" screen and then to the screen with the microsoft logo and a progress bar. The motherboard beeps all the way through the progress bar, and at the end it gives me a BSOD with error code c0000219.
Now while putting this thing together the only real gripe I had was how horrible the Intel factory HSF is and moronically designed it is. I'm pretty sure I busted some of the plastic clips at the bottom but I got it to stay tightly mounted in place on the processor.
After this, I checked the bios, the CPU temp reads 104*C. Way too damn hot.. and it even reads that after first turning on the computer. The bridge tempurates seem normal and fine, around 30 C for all those. I know the CPU's temperatures are a misreport but I'm trying to figure out if this is the CPU or the motherboard giving me the problems here because i really want this thing running so I gotta know what to RMA with Newegg.
Some specs:
DFI Lanparty DK P35-T2RS motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale
8GB (4 x 2GB) G.skill DDR2 800 RAM
Help greatly appreciated in pinpointing the problem. Thanks in advance.
