trouble with temps

Hey Guys,

I recently loaded the half life demo on my computer, played it for about 2 hours last night, went to play it today and it crashed so i installed the program that came with my jetway A210 GDMS motherboard to check the temps every time i enter any game now my temps on the northbridge go above the allowed maximum and some alarm goes off. I have only played on other game on the system since ive built it but never had any crashes until today.

I was thinking of changing the case fan maybe? I am using all the stock cooling but i havent OCed yet. My idle temps are according to the programs CPU:47C and NB: 49C
according to my bios though my CPU temps are at 50-52C.

I am using the onboard graphics so I can understand temps going up but I dont know y this all of sudden started happening.

I put my hand on the heatsink for the NB and it was warm I dont know if thats good or bad?

Can anyone recommend something to me.

Normally if you place your hand on the hs, it will be hot after it is being used. Even if your temp for your cpu is 47c, that's not over the limit of your cpu being too hot. I would say a program is more accurate then the bios. But they should be pretty close. If your playing half-life one, I can't imagine your computer getting too hot. Can you post specs on computer. You may want to buy a new hs/fan combo, maybe one with adjustable fan speed. That helps a lot. I am assuming your using your stock one right now.

Seagate 7200.8 250GB HDD

i was playing the HL2 demo. My stock CPU fan says its running at max even when im not really doing anything. Its the North bridge temps that go up past max and my CPU temps go up about 3C

The temps of the bios compared to the program werent too much different they were a little higher though.

I am baffled cuz i played the demo for a couple hours yesterday and it didnt freeze or anything.

That looks nice but my chipset has integrated graphics so I cant use that also I am working on an mATX mobo so i dont know whether that would fit or not


any other recommendations, I really have no idea wut to do

I was thinking maybe just get some artic silver 5 and then use the same heatsink just with the new thermal grease. Is this a good option?

It should lower temps some. Don't know how much though.

Get a new hs/fan for ur cpu.
