Trouble with XP's file and setting xfer wizard with CDRW

I am trying to transfer some files and settings from my old WinME machine to my new Dell XP machine. I have gotten the needed volume down to about 70 megs and told the wizard to use the "other" choice for removable media and pointed it to my CDRW drive. It recorded the info fine and the wizard said to run the same wizard on the Dell and insert the CDR. When I do the wizard says that it is the wrong disc and wants "disc #1". there is only one disc that is created and it is the one I am using. Has anyone else used the File & Settings transfer wizard with a CDRW drive instead of the many floppies that would be required to transfer the data???

From a FAQ on the Dell site, it says to pick the media and folder with the file USMT2.UNC on it. The file that the XP wizard put on the CDR is USMT2.IMG. There is no choice of file types in the wizard, it does it all by itself. Microsoft says I have to get info from Dell since XP is OEM from them, Dell support says they can't help but I can call their "Advanced OS Support" center at $30 a call to try and figure it out.

I can't be the only person that this has happened to.....

I dunno if this'll help much but have you run Windows Update anytime recently? I remember seeing an update that dealt with errors using the File Settings and Transfer Wizard. Hope this helps...
