Troubleshoot - Is the mobo dead?

My friend gave me a MicroStar 694D Pro - Dual 370 Socket Motherboard

When I power it with my current systems power supply all I hear is a faint but shrill continuous beep coming from my Power Supply. It sounds similar to the charging of a camera flash or a big cap. No beeps from the onboard speaker. I plugged in 1 RAM + 1 CPU

Is there anything I can do it figure out whats wrong and maybe salvage the motherboard since I have 2 PIIIs with me.

Swap every component out, one at a time. If it still won't go, then try taking out the RAM completely and seeing if you get any beeping noises.

If you don't get anything out of that, then it's time to get the Irish Precision Tool onto it

Oh, try a different PSU too- had that a few times at work, one of the rails died on a system I was working on.

No beeps what so ever...dead as a dead duck. Tired powering without anything, with 1 ram, no ram, HDD, 1CPU, 2 CPUS....

The same power supply is running the system I'm typing from right now so I don't think thats a problem.

What should I do now?

You might need higher wattage since you are running a dual-cpu board. Just a suggestion.
