BFG 7900 GT OC Videocard
2GB OCZ DDR2 PC4200
WD 250Gb HD,16mb etc etc
BenQ 16X DVD burner wih lightscribe
Blizzard Case
Viewsonic 19" LCD
Logitech G15 Keyboard
Logitech MX510 Mouse

well theres the specs so you know exatly what i am working with here...anyways i finished building it up tonight and then i went to boot it up and i get nothing...the computer comes on the HD spins i hear the DVD drive spin the light on the motherboard is on...the CPU fan is spinning and the GPU fan is spinning but i got nothing on my monitor...it just says No Signal...now i have tried both DVI ports and both DVI-VGA adapters and got nothing...no video whatsoever...so what could be wrong? i checked to make sure my vid card was in the slot and the 6 pin power plugged in and it all seems good...so what could it be? i would really like to get this thing running tonight

Always a possibility that the video card itself is bad. Do you got a spare card you can test with? Or another computer you can put that card in to test?

What power supply are you using?

Try seating the video card very tightly (please don't break anything).

i am using this powersupply

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?...-400-PN-B&manufacture=Fortron%20Source

i was told on another forum that it would cooperate well with this card compared to the one i had in there before...and more than one person said this.

EDIT:: also just seated the card to the best of my ability....even took the card out and put it back in....and still got nothing

please tell me i dont have to send a component back....this is a customers computer and i really cant afford a time delay..

could it be the CPU? or HD? i took out all the RAM and it beeped to tell me the RAM was not there...but otherwise i get no beep...sounds like the computer thinks everything is fine...but it isnt...im gunna double check all my connections again on the LCD and the rest..

You tried just putting together mobo, CPU, ram, PSU, video card?

Got a spare video card? Got a spare CPU? Spare PSU? Anything at all to try to narrow down the problem?

no i got spare nothing...except optical and HD...all the rest is above all my current systems...its 775,PCI-E and DDR2...all mine is 478,AGP and DDR

i got a spare PSU but i dont even want to plug it into this high end system becuase its really really low quality and i dont want to risk frying something out

also i took off the HSF looked at the CPU and pins...i dont see any bent pins but maybe they are and i just cant tell...i am not sure...

well after taking the videocard out and having a closer look at the pins i noticed on the back side that one of the pins is shorter then all the rest....is it suppose ot be this way? its the pin closest to the mounting brack and on the backside...its hard ot tell but it looks like half of the gold may have flaked or came off...but the pin might also suppose to be this way....i cant tell...does anyone have a card to look at and tell me if there pin is like that?

hmm nope i have triple checked those....i even took the motherboard out and took out a couple motherboard standoffs thinking maybe it was shorting something and also just to try and reinstall everything...

this really has me stumped becuase i dont even know what to RMA anymore...

That powersupply you have can definetly handle your rig. I don't think the PSU is the problem but you never know. I can't comment on connectors for the vid card since I don't own a PCI-E card but the fact that everything in your comp works but you get no video probably means the card is bad (assuming you have everything hooked up correctly).

You don't have a friend with a PCI-E mobo that you can test the card or anything? If not your best bet might just be to call up BFG and see what they say.

well after reading and getting responses in a few places it seems my motherboard may need a BIOS update in order to handle my 930 CPU....now the only problem is how do i update it if i can not get it to POST?

I didn't even think about that and it makes sense I suppose after looking at Asus's bios updates for that motherboard. All but one of them have "Support New CPUs" in the description. How you're suppose to flash them I don't know . I'd call Asus for sure though. They might just mail you a new bios chip that's pre-flashed.

Yup I've had to call them many many times this past week. 1-502-995-0883. And I believe it's extension 3 and then wait on the line for motherboard support.

Yeah, my P5LD2-VM wouldn't post with my 920 until after I did a bios update. Fortunatly I had a spare LGA775 P4 laying around. I don't know how they expect anyone to be able to flash the bios when it won't post.
