Ok ... I've been searching various forums and sites for a while now and have found nothing to help.
I just purchased a Truepower 430. I love the fact that with the case fans plugged into the PSU "fan only" connectors I get ultra-quiet results, but it's raised my CPU temp's (predictably) by about 5C.
CPU Temps at full load--
Plugged into the "fan only" connectors: ~45C
Plugged into a normal connector: ~40C
Research shows that the Truepower's temperature sensors don't kick in the fans until the temp hits 40C. Well, fortunately (or unfortunately) my case temps never get over about 35C at full load.
Preferably, I'd simply like the PSU temp sensor to kick in at ~32-35C instead of 40C but have no idea how to make that happen. Alternatively, it would be nice to have the PSU kick in based upon CPU temps instead of ambient/case temps but again, I have no idea how to do this.
Everyone I've asked so far has simply told me to suck it up since there's no harm in the CPU running at even 45C or else to attach a fanbus for manual control. However, I'd like to know if anyone has already addressed this issue in the way I'm proposing.
Anyone have any tips?
