They are both just fine. I use both and I have no problems with either.

which PSU is better? performance and quietness.

Both are very good quality PSUs,however Antec has a 3 year warranty on their PSUs.

Supposedly the Antec's have a cleaner +12volt rail than the enermax's, though they are both so good that it only seems like an issue with some Dual Athlon rigs. The guys at 2cpu.com seem to reccomend to avoid enermax for athlonMPs rigs because of this.

based on personal experience, i'd go with the truepower. i run 3 rigs powered by antecs and all run without any glitches. my enermax 350w (after 2 years) started giving me problems. the +12V started sagging down to 10.4V. i had constant reboots, crashes. and blue screens of death

You're welcome. I have the older 300w Nexus (over a year... no problems), and my brother recently got the 350w. Both are excellent and ultra-quiet.

I'd get a Fortron. Solid voltages & adjustable pots on some models. Can't go wrong.

The new enermax PSUs run your fans for a short while after shutdown. This is a very useful feature, especially if you OC.

They're both great PS. IMO Enermax has a slight edge in one regard-the +12 has a higher Amps rating at any of the various Wattage-sizes. The newer ones, in addition to the above fan-shutoff-delay have 2 seperate +12 feeds, seems like a good idea to keep the CPU/videocard seperate from the drives and or fans. And it's also the 1st one I've seen with the SATA power connectors.
On the Antec side, the True-Power 550 looks nice with it's seperate adjustable pots and fan control from the "breakout box" which fits in a 5.25" bay.
Can't go wrong with either brand.

On this page it's the "Smart Fan" feature listed for all of the 1.3 units:
After PC shuts down, cooling fans keep running for at least 2 minutes to effectively cool down parts and hardwares inside PSU and PC cases. Thus, ensure longer product life time of power supply and hardwares inside PC case.

This would seem to me very trivial. So what if the fans are on an extra two minutes? Cooling for an extra two minutes really doesn't help enough to run out and buy it for this feature alone. For those that say that the fans aren't on so the equipment gets hot, I don't think that is correct either. If there is no power to the components in effect they are losing heat. The fans speed up this process yes, but the heat is no different then if you had left your computer on another 5-10 minutes. No biggie IMO...

But then again... I like to replace things often.

If you google, you will find several articles on this. CPU temps go UP after your turn the computer off, sometimes a great deal. One article had the CPU temp rise 20C after shutdown. Just because you turn a component off, doesn't mean that it is instantly cool. This is a big issue if you OC.
