Can someone explain why the Detonator drivers could not be updated to support TruForm or some variation of it?
From all I've read Truform is just an implementation of n-patches which are already defined by DirectX and OpenGL. In addition to this argument, there is a guy called "NitroGL" at http://mwill.hypermart.net/ that has made patches for Quake and UnrealTournament that implement TruForm on Radeon cards (i.e. an R200 is not required).
I have download one of the TruForm demos at the site and upon execution I get "GL_ATIX_pn_triangles unsupported". Seem to me this is just an ATI OpenGL extension that could also be added to the Detonator driver set.
Can anyone give a good explanation?
