So I've been using this service FreedomPop. I have one of their 500mb hot spots as well as a Huawei Union phone. This is definitely not good for a primary phone. The phone is for my son for emergency purposes. The phone service is 200 minutes a month 500 SMS, 500MB data.
It's plenty for simple 1min/sentence calls/text telling me he's ready from swimming/karate/basketball. The hotspot I use when I'm on the road and need to check a quick email etc...
Anyway the secret to FreedomPop is you gotta disable all the "free trial" shit they start you out with, or you will forget and get charged to 30 - 40 a month. The free basic plan is truly free. Then on the hotspot you have to disable the "automatic refill", or you will get charged when you go over 500mb....
