Trump press curve in effect yet again when it is increasingly clear that a candidate for president is probably having an affair basically out in the open less than two months before Election Day and all they're willing to do is side eye it.

Well, Trump and Republicans are just a force of nature with no agency. Nothing the press can do about it, so why bother reporting on it. Now here's why this is a problem for Kamala and the Democrats. /s

He's in love!. He holds her close and she seems to enjoy being close to him?!?!

Trump: "I can't control Laura, She just keeps getting on my plane". What an idiot! I don't control people, either, but if they're super shitty ass people, I don't let them on my plane. Saying you don't control someone, and they are a "free spirit" sure sounds like an excuse for hanging out with super shitty ass people.

This week Loomer is getting more press than she’s had for the past 8 years. She’s gotta be real moist right about now. Loomer takes being one of Trumps "handlers" to a whole new level. Can you imagine the nanoseconds of sheer ecstasy Trump and Loomer are enjoying now? She’s reached the apex of her delusions being validated. Totally weird codependent meltdown.
Harris Campaign : Trump admitted to having no control over his own plane. I don't think he should control our nukes.

This is what happens when you build a coalition of society's worst people. These two racists trading insults call themselves Christians and represent the GOP, fighting for Donalds attention. The GOP has the best circular firing squads! Nobody's seen circular firing squads like this before! Wingnut on wingnut action. Hey! sometimes, the trash takes itself out.

Anything to praise their modern-day Lord and Savior!

I wonder if the events this week will actually mean anything for the election. Not just the debate which, if it doesn’t bump Harris’s poll numbers at all then damn it’s going to be a nailbiter; but specifically him hanging out with Loomer. I had never heard of her until a few months ago when somehow I came across some crazy shit she said on Twitter. It won’t be possible to disentangle one from the other unfortunately.

Will undecided voters/independents pay attention to the fact that Trump is hanging out with perhaps one of the nuttiest “popular” figures on the far-right? Who has advocated for imprisoning and broadcasting the execution Democrats; for the crime of… being a Democrat. For toasting a neo-nazi and saying that they’re actively engaged in a hostile takeover of the Republican Party. Who even Marjorie Taylor Frickin Greene is beefing with!

I’d have to think it will play some part. That supposedly centrist-types would be able to actually look critically and objectively at the Trump campaign, their tone, their plans, and the people that Trump associates with and are in his inner-circle, and be like “yeah no way I’m for that”. But I am certainly not confident about that. Because overall on a whole this election wouldn’t even be close.

It’s just a shame that this election will come down to a few thousand votes in three key states, with everything riding on these same independents who seem like they can be so easily swayed.

I really do wonder how these supposed independents can ignore all of the terrible things Trump has perpetrated including the fact that he is, among a whole lot of other heinous things a convicted felon, an adulterer and admitted sex offender, including how he reflexively lies to both accuse his (their?) enemies just as he so easily spits out lie after lie to defend his total disregard for law and order.

How is it ever possible that these self-described independents that favor Trump can totally ignore what is so blatantly obvious about how he is so freakishly unqualified to lead the most powerful nation in the world, that he is an unhinged totalitarian bent on seizing power and vengefully abusing it so as to attain total control over the lives of every living American and those who will follow?

What manner of insanity is it that what they see in Trump makes them think he's deserving of the office and why is it that they refuse to see and believe with their own eyes and ears the ugliness and depravity that Trump has become notorious for?

From what little I've seen, it is mostly rationalized as:
1) Trump is actually fully telling the truth, mainstream media is lying; (don't believe your lying eyes). Mass repetition of lies really works to brainwash many folks, and Trump is a master of that, never admit fault - just double, triple, quadruple down on the lie.
2) and/or Trump is just joking to own the libs when they finally figure out it has to be a lie (or Trump has flip-flopped)
3) And Democrats are completely making up all those terrible things

And tens of millions fully believe the above points, but the those aren't the "independents" you're looking for.

Rather, the millions more that claim to be "independents" don't fully believe the above points apply all of the time, but instead only believe about half of his non-stop bullshit that fits their own biases, which is fully confirmed and reinforced by their "independent" Fox news source and facebook friends.

The first question asked of any "independent" should be where do you get most of your news - and the answer will generally be Fox propaganda (and Facebook), with a smattering of local news (also likely fully controlled by Republicans) and other networks.

As evidence that mass repetition of a lie really works if one repeats it enough:

71% of Republicans now say that "the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump", and a further 10% don't know.

- It goes without saying that there has been precisely 0 evidence of Democratic voter fraud that could have impacted the 2020 election results in any state, and there has not even been a theoretical proposal of any feasible method by which such could have happened. Much less across the multiple states required to overturn the election.
- And after a massive number of court cases, recounts, and tens of millions spent investigating, every single time ultimately reconfirmed that the results were accurate without any significant fraud or error (and the small handful of fraudulent votes discovered were almost exclusively by Republicans)
- And alongside this was overwhelming evidence that Trump and Republicans were lying, including now direct confessions from many of the lawyers and participants involved, not the least of which included Fox paying $787 million to settle just one defamation lawsuit.
- Meanwhile 71% of Republicans ignore all of these facts to instead believe their Orange god and Fox guests which still claim the election was stolen - (but no longer naming any specific imaginary perpetrators, to avoid further defamation lawsuits.)

Lol the 5% of Dems that say election was stolen
Yeah that makes no sense. Never understood how that is the case, my suspicion is that they’re lying about being a Democrat.

The thing that really irritates me, is how the Republicans always refer to themselves as the “law and order party”. And this is still after January 6th, after defending Trump stealing top-secret classified information and obstructing the retrieval of it, deflect the adjudicated business fraud in NY, the Stormy situation, and the E Jean Carroll verdict. Every single one of those things would torch someone’s political career but they just deflect for a Trump and say some crap about inner city crime.

Honing in on the election lies. It just goes to show how morally bankrupt they are.
63 court cases (with many brought to Trump appointed judges) including the Supreme Court handled complaints from various people/groups and every single one was rejected for lack of standing. Bill Barr of all people said there was nothing. And yet still as in that above image, 71-81% of Republicans think the election was stolen. That is quite literally anti-law. They only believe in the law when it suits their aims.

And out of that election lie, came January 6th, and then another lie, that the FBI set it up lol. Or even during the riot itself, people were saying it was Antifa.
From that Trump has pledged to pardon all of those insurrectionists if he is elected again, calling them “patriots”.

@Dave_5k I think you’re spot on, though I think point 2 is probably most likely for independents. But this part especially I agree:

I typically think of independents overall is center to center-right. But maybe I’m wrong and they’re more center-right, as they seem susceptible to falling for this misinformation and are willing to look past the multitude of unsavory, dishonest, disqualifying, and reprehensible behavior. I mean 43% of independents don’t know or think the election was stolen? This group must be dissociated from the evidence or unwilling to consider it like all those Rs. But why is what I haven’t figured out. Maybe it’s just apathy and willful ignorance, and it’s that simple.

Edit: came across this Twitter thread, and it fits nicely and with what we are talking about right here:

Every person who voted for Trump is not so much an enabler. From a certain perspective, every one of them are in reality aiding and abetting his crimes thus incriminating themselves in the act thereof. They are all guilty of allowing him to commit crimes by giving him their loyalty and their ability to give him the power he must have to continue the crime wave he's unleashed on the nation.

So Trump's got himself a full time groupie and new diaper attendant, while the blonde ape that's been courting him got called out for being a whorish roast beef vendor. Haha. American politics once again achieving new milestones, thanks to Trump and Team Treason. Definitely another proud day for the religious right and their virtuous champion.

Melania wants nothing to do with him. This isn’t necessarily a downgrade.
She’s been doing this to him for years.

My thought was the post suggested that Looney Loomey is a downgrade from the former runway queen Melania who is now spurning him.

Barf, watching MTG and Loomer go at it is like Sauron vs Saruman. Both shitty, and both will stop fighting each other in a second if they can get over on the Free Peoples (aka the Harris campaign!)

If indeed she got banned from his plane, it'll be interesting to see if she flails at him over it. She seems deranged but it's probably just an act to make money, like almost any other "influencer" out there (which doesn't make what they say even a little bit excusable).

These pieces of walking shit are going to get people killed over a made-up story about immigrants eating pets. How scummy can you get (don't answer that, there's always lower). I doubt anyone in my life will ever bring up that subject to me--they know me--but man I'm going to tear into anyone who does. I think my gigs could be interesting for the next couple months, seeing as our audience is mostly white gen x/boomers (who normally don't get rowdy about politics, but I think think people are getting pretty riled up, myself included.) As the hired help I don't get into it with patrons but that may get put to the test especially if someone gets in my face. We've occasionally had some drunk racist come up and say shit like "why you all playin that n****er music" and the like, thankfully we mostly don't play redneck joints anymore.
