Personally I'm in favor of do unto others as they would do unto you. If the Trumps want to treat the US as their personal piggy bank and sell it out to do so, then there's a clear argument in favor of the Trump business interests being part of the president's office, else it would be a conflict of interest. Don Jr himself posted them when he found out that the NYT was already in possession of them. The emails are real. That doesn't necessarily mean that charges will be filed.

LOL, I wouldn't go that far, but I also don't trust Trump Jr. releasing his emails on good faith. Didn't Rachel Maddow warn that fake news was being shopped around?

I did hear on the radio that Trump Jr. may want to avoid having Mueller go after Trump Corp. records, getting into the "not so blind" trust that Trump established. Hence he may be releasing info and speaking openly in an effort to prevent that.

Same radio show mentioned that when the Gore campaign was approached with damaging info on GWB, their first move was to call the FBI out on the source (anyone remember that?)
