User over at Reddit had a logical and thought provoking analysis of this news story. So essentially, Don Jr is trying to make this meeting a non-issue and play it off by claiming the Russian lawyer he met with had nothing to offer him and only wasted his time. However, it was Aras Agalarov through his son Emin and Rob Goldstone who set the meeting up. So if you believe Jr's story that nothing significant happened, you essentially have to believe that a Russian billionaire oil tycoon was duped by this lady saying she had "documents and information that would incriminate Hillary," yet in fact only wanted to lobby the Trump campaign? Seems highly incredulous, and ridiculous beyond the point of belief.
He made some other conclusions about the lawyer being a courier to deliver documents from Putin's agents, but those were much more circumstantial. You can read his analysis here if you're interested: https://np.reddit.com/r/politics/co...t_chris_hayes_provides_evidence_that/dk5xerf/
I took some time to look into the details of these claims about the emails, and their author is pretty astute and lives up to his claim to be a trial attorney.
Or in other words, there's pretty compelling reason to believe that Putin has held evidence which can put the Trumps away in actual prison since June last year.
Also, just a correction to your post. The lawyer isn't the one duping Putin's friend if she is still alive. The only possible hole in the narrative is if the Agalarov/Putin was trying to dupe Trump about the documents, which is unlikely given the value of that relationship.
