Since politically they have no power, they are doing the Public Tarnish Campaign where they're going to trump up (no pun intended...ok...maybe a little) whatever they can push out there get a.) their base engaged for 2018 and 2020, b.) middle of the road people on their side for 2018 and 2020, and c.) Right leaning people either coming over to their side for 2018 and 2020, or, just staying home like enough of their side did in 2016 to make the difference. As humiliating as 2016 was for Dems, what cannot be allowed to happen is the political numbers stay where they are for 2018 and 2020. That is going to set the liberal agenda back a couple of decades at least, and after all the persistent work they've been doing in the media and in the classroom to push that agenda, that's just too painful to bear. Plus of course, I mean, they're Intellectuals: WhoTF is anyone else compared to them, Team Intellectual?
In Short: I see this for what it is, the jv crew going to get dirt, and The Other Side playing their really only play in stirring up enough fake concern to influence voters down the road (however that works depending on the voter).
