Just saw a lawyer on CNN say that Since Jr isn't part of government he has little to fear legally unless he lies under oath. They're sacrificing Jr since the rest (Jared, etc) have much more to fear.
Yeah it is really starting to get that feel to it. Even Fox seems to be on board. The sacrificial lamb.

Bet they're not mentioning Jared at all right?

They didn't focus on him, but it was brought up that he failed to fill out his security clearance forms correctly.

I also don't understand how collusion in furtherance of a crime would not be illegal. Fox is even implying that the massive amounts of lies (their words) coming from the campaign is sure making it look like the campaign participated in the dissemination of stolen information. Seems like a crime to me.

Dirt is dirt, I don't give two shits where it comes from. If you're clean, no matter where people go, they can't get dirt on you.

Dirt is dirt, but it matters if the dirt was obtained legally or illegally. In the case of the Russian government obtaining dirt on an American political candidate, there is very little chance that they would come by such information through anything other than hacking or other forms of espionage.

It's amazing the sleaziness that you guys will now tolerate in the name of defending Trump. Not a chance any of this would have been remotely OK if done by a dem.

That's just them covering their asses in case it blows up in their face. Jared must be protected as long as possible as he has the highest security clearances and is Drumpf's right hand man.

Who knows how they came of it. I expect we're doing the exact same thing to Russia, gathering dirt on them. I expect if/when the time comes that Putin is vulnerable, we'll be going to his detractors (hopefully better concealed than this) and offering them dirt also. The important thing to me isn't if Russia (who I already expect to be obtaining dirt on Pols both legally and illegally, just like we I expect are) has dirt, or how it was obtained, it's that there is dirt to collect on a POTUS candidate to begin with. I know it's crazy, but, I expect Politicians to be clean, or at least that's my desire. So if the Russians, or anyone else really, actually turns up damaging dirt on any political candidate, I really care not where it came from, I care that it is what it is in the first place.

If they have credible audio and/or video, or credible e-mail trail of someone in the Trump campaign, or, someone acting to support the Trump campaign who was actually supposed to be doing so (not a false flag Dem operation), asking the Russians (or anyone else) to do something illegal, or, engaging in quid pro quo where they get dirt and give them consideration that the US would not otherwise bestow down the road, I have no problems with that person being legally - and socially - sanctioned. Why would I?

Now, when WikiLeaks, who has a 100% accuracy record, had item after item about Team Billary, and the entire mainstream media save for Fox was doing their absolute best to parrot the It's Russia! Team Billary supplied cover, you guys were in here screaming that that was BS and the media and public had a right to know, right? I'll just say up front, I don't remember that. I remember mitigation after excuse after dodge. But now, now after Team Blue lost 2016 (after expecting to win big), we need to go full tilt OMG Russia! and get it all investigated? Spare me the fake concern man...

CNN: At least 8 people in the room at Trump Tower Russia meeting.

So far acknowledged in attendance: Trump Jr., Kushner, Manafort, Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, Akhmetshin and publicist Rob Goldstone, who helped set up the meeting. A source familiar with the circumstances told CNN there were at least two other people in the room as well, a translator and a representative of the Russian family who had asked Goldstone to set up the meeting.

I'm done.

They sure need a lot of people to talk about either nothing or adoptions or whatever else sycophants can come up with.

It is kind of amazing how accepting people have become of major crimes committed by hostile foreign powers so long as it gets them the result they want. I guess that's what happens when you have a conservative movement in America that has no ideas and no coherent plan for government other than not liking liberals.

It would be sad if they weren't dragging everyone else down with them.

Who knows how they came of it.

LOL@ "who knows." If some guy came to you and said, "I want you to go out on this boat in the dead of night, rendez-vous with another boat, receive a mysterious package, then bring it to shore and hand it to two guys in a panel truck in exchange for a valise with $100K in cash" I guess you'd feel comfortable with the defense of, "but officer, I didn't know there was narcotics in that package."

Russia does more espionage than any other country on earth, including the US. There is little chance that any dirt they would have on any American political candidate would be obtained legally, just as there is little chance that our hypothetical package contains maple syrup.

I expect we're doing the exact same thing to Russia, gathering dirt on them. I expect if/when the time comes that Putin is vulnerable, we'll be going to his detractors (hopefully better concealed than this) and offering them dirt also. So if the end justifies the means, which is precisely what you're arguing here, why are we hearing so much squawking on the right about these "leaks?" You know, like that leak to WaPo in February which exposed Michael Flynn as a potentially compromised liar. I thought that didn't matter, that the only thing that mattered is that someone broke the law by leaking it to the press.

No, it's just the ones who sympathize more with your lot. I'm sure they appreciate your company here.
