Trump’s Son Met With Russian Lawyer After Being Promised Damaging Information on Clinton

what caught my ear this morning is the detail from the Trump lawyer/spokesrabbits about the "27 minute-long meeting" ...an awful precise detail about the length of a meeting that:

--never happened
--oh, was actually about adoptions
--oh, was actually about dirt on hillary, but there was nothing interesting
--oh, those people weren't actually there
--oh, they were, but they didn't do anything.

etc etc. ..it seems the lawyers were involved very early on or, at the very least, someone was taking some very detailed notes. At the very best (from Trump's perspective), it tells me that they knew this was bad going in, thought about covering their asses, because they were going in anyway.

The sheer volume of lies does seem to indicate that they are hiding something bad.

What??? Did you read the tweet?? Trump Jr. said the woman had information about the Clinton campaign that could be detrimental (commonly called "opposition research"). Turned out to be a big nothingburger. So after 20 minutes the meeting ended. Please don't tell me the Clinton campaign would not have done the same thing and meet with anyone who could discredit the Trump campaign (including Russians).

I'd defend the good name of team sports by pointing out that players largely act in good faith, and degenerate behavior on the field is frowned upon by participants and fans alike.
