Why am I wrong about how this is being spun.

I ask, "What specifics can you name that proves this summit is a success?"

The answer I'm getting:. "This is a historical summit and Trump has done more then any President in history on North Korea"
Only a few months ago your ilk was lighting their hair on fire as they were completely convinced that Trump was going to start WWIII. I consider it a huge success that they've now seem to have moved past this level of hysteria. Agree?

Your really grasping for something to support your view but that article doesn't do it. It is just saying we need to make sure we don't let the things of the past don't happen again. did you read it?

You already got leaked statements from within the South Korean government expressing displeasure, exactly what I predicted what would happen. This shouldn't be surprising as South Korea lost an important part of its defense guarantee from the US in exchange for nothing.

The Asian media, the South Korean president have viewed it as successful. What more can you ask at this point? Should Kim and Trump put on some radiation suits and immediately started dismantling nukes? You list what you view as success.
I can point out with specifics why the JCPOA was a pretty good deal. Can you do the same? What did you expect the President of SK to say? What happened yesterday is showing up at the finish line without doing any of the hard work.

We know it was a success for Kim but what specifically did we get? The only thing I see was NK promising to move towards a nuclear free Korea sometime in the future. Tell me specifically where I am wrong.

Well yeah, that's a thing SK wouldn't know was on the table. I suspect until it flew out of Trump's mouth he didn't either.

That was not well played.

In other words it was a huge success because they didn't blow each other up? The real answer is its a good thing they didn't blow each other up. What just occurred should have happened as part of early prep work. The photo-op gave Kim the world respect and parity with POTUS, sanctions relief, no military exercises.

If I'm wrong what specifically did we get that's different from past NK agreements?

Trump wants to withdraw US troops, unilaterally if need be, from Korea. Moon probably wants them gone too but as a larger part of a NK stand down to be negotiated. Instead Trump is in there flipping their chips to Kim and getting nothing for it.

Trump helped create a crisis with North Korea and now it's a huge success that he's averted his own crisis. WHY AREN'T YOU GIVING HIM MORE CREDIT.

Look, I might have set your house on fire but then I came and put it out! You should really be thanking me.

Bullshit. No one with a brain ever thought WWIII was starting. You seem to have a real difficult time answering questions though. Derp Savage Fucktard...

It's progress, but it's a bit like a parent being happy their teenage child didn't wet the bed -- in both cases, it's the baseline anyone should expect. A huge success would involve guaranteed, verifiable denuclearization and equally verifiable commitments to improving North Korea's approach to human rights.

The only thing anyone with a brain can glean out of this is that the TrumpTard America hating Conservaterrorists that post here and abroad is that they would rather be aligned with NK and Russian than our allies in Canada and in the UN...

Your grandfathers would have cut off their balls had they knows their progeny would be swallowing loads of Russian and NK yak by the bucketfull while trying to destroy our great country and possible the World.

You repugnant pukes will go down in history as the greatest threat Real Americans have ever eradicated from our land...
Your end is coming soon...

Perhaps this time we'll see a good outcome for the world...that said, nearly everyone agrees that the proof will be in the pudding.

I believe there's widespread agreement on this point. No argument here.

LOL I'm amped! Only in bizarro TrumpTardVille can alienating our allies in North America and Europe and snuggling up to Russian and NK be seen as a good thing!

How far does the hate for "liberals" go? Well.... it goes as far as destroying our Country while TrumpTards high five one another...

It's nice in that it seems tomorrow will be a nuke-free day. In terms of objective benchmarks, I see an agreement to do something at some point on the part of NK and that we are ending exercises with SK. In substance, I don't see how this is materially better a deal than this Administrations predecessors.

This is an agreement so vague as to be functionally useless to us at least but gives everyone political cover.

It's never been so obvious that it's

What's obvious is that no matter what comes out of the meeting, you'll call it a total failure.

Nope. Far more people than you can possibly imagine actually do want this to become a success, and will certainly hail it as such. This start is rather dubious, but only in the sense that it lacks substance while merely making baseless promises. Still, it is a step.

What is actually quite obvious is that what we have right now is a minority of Trump fans that are basically Cleveland Indians fans, fully believing that they have already won the World Series simply for showing up on opening day, April 1st. Hey, there is always hope and that's the thing: who wouldn't be happy to see the Indians actually win one, right?

Throwing allies and American troops under the bus to appease a brutal dictator.

I don't think so.

Trump is entirely about "me". "To appease a brutal dictator" implies that Trump is doing something for the benefit of another. Throwing people under the bus may appease Kim but that's coincidental to elevating Trump's status in his own mind.

But Trumpy gazed into Kim's soul and he really, really, really means it this time. For reals.

OK, we need some dark humor

https://us.cnn.com/2018/06/12/politics/trump-press-conference-north-korea-singapore/index.html

This is the "Coming back to bite you in the ass" statement.

http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...otes-from-kim-meeting-i-have-one-of-the-great

Prosecution: "Mr. President, I'd like to ask you some questions about dictating your son's responses, where first you did not and then you did. Which is it?".

Trump: "I don't recall"

Prosecution: "You stated to the public that you have one of the greatest memories of all time. Those would be defined as those who do not forget what they've said. Were you lying then or now?"
