The peoples of Korea, north and south, Japan, China, eastern Russia, and all the others who have had to put up with the bizarre and dubious antics of successive Kims, can sleep easier in their beds, spend less on defence and get on with making their respective countries prosperous. It is good for world peace. The fact that it is also good for Donald Trump’s reputation at home doesn’t affect that. It may even be President Trump’s one abiding legacy. It would be a substantial one
This would not have happened had Trump not stood up to little rocket man Un. He would have still been firing missles and demanding money to stop doing so. China backed down and put pressure on fat boy Un.

Credit where credit is due. Congrats to Trump for two things:

Trump exemplifies everything that's wrong with having a man who thinks he is smarter than everyone else in power. He ignored the advise of, well, everyone including his own top advisers because he just knew he could do it. The only thing he has accomplished so far in this entire NK affair is to alienate several allies and give cover to Kim in the death of Otto Warmier with is usual 'I believe the murderous dictator' shtick.
Meanwhile the faithful will praise him for walking away from what everyone else was saying all along. That Kim WOULD NOT denuclearize.
