Why do Trump do this?
He is scared to his bones of losing November.
Anyone was wondering what lengths he will go to to get reelected, there you have it. No. Limit. Dont. Care. Who or how many. Dies.

Thank god no one listens in on the phone calls anymore ... am i right?
I'm just waiting to see Putin grab the rest of Ukraine during all the covid confusion. He is coordinating the marketing message with Trump during these calls. "Ukraine helped Hunter so Russia needs to root out the corruption."

Not easy, and I also agree we need to verify immunity, but I believe I have read that they aren't even sure we develop full immunity after having it or how long any immunity lasts.

We should also move to a WFH paradigm as much as possible, and upgrade our infrastructure to support it.
Knowledge workers have the option to work from home, but the working class need to physically report to work. There is a growing resentment against those who are able to work from home while they post on Instagram the Great Depression bread recipe they saw Jimmy Fallon making with some other celebrity over Zoom. These are the people currently protesting quarantines.

The astroturfed protesters in Michigan are a small subset of working people. The AR's are always a nice touch, huh?

That was my point as well, Trump of course wasted no time on this one, "these people like me and my opinion" while also claiming to agree with the measured opening proposed with the CDC and his own staff. Michigan national guard should have been called in to escort these gun-toting fuck-wads off public property.

These people seem to be sane and Texas has a Republican governor.

Conspiracy theorists gone wild.

It can be over now, switch off your TV, switch off your phone and breathe a sigh of relief that you don't have to read or listen to it all again. The sky is blue, the grass is green and behind your TV / phone is the devil unseen, switching it all off makes it all go away. Love your life by living it without all the nonsense, remember this, all you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be. That is all

I think it’s hilarious how quickly the Defenders of Liberty and Freedumb can switch from “States’ Rights!” to “We take our orders from the President, not the Governor!”

I think this is just trolling to demonstrate how stupid the “base” is.

Trump&Co view this as a win-win:

Rile up the "base" and if it gets a Democrat governor removed it's a Republican win.

Rile up the "base", but if infections spike, blame it on the Democrat governors failing.

If a bunch of the "base" gets sick/die while doing all this.... well, it's the duty of the cannon fodder to take losses. Because, for the most part, that's how Trump&Co view the average member of their fan club - cannon fodder. Order them to do the dirty work and take any blame, to which Trump&Co reap the rewards.

Strongman Trump is of course talking about people rising up and murdering his opponents.

This is the same person who as a candidate running against Clinton, said:

“Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the second amendment... If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the second amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know. But I’ll tell you what, that will be a horrible day.”

This is what Strongmen do, they hint at things without just saying it, to both get the idea out and see the pushback, and to gauge how their collaborators will take it.

It didn't cost him anything to hint that right-wing authoritarians might have to murder the President of the US if he wasn't President.

This is just him extending it to his other political rivals - state Governors.

Anyone trying to claim it's a joke, or a troll, is a collaborator. Collaborator is a very specific term.

I sincerely feel for and support everyone who has lost their job because of the quarantines, but unless all of those people are MAGA extremists, then they aren't the current protesters.

And FWIW, many companies that have transitioned their employees to work from home are prohibiting those employees from discussing that on social media, for exactly this reason. For what that's worth.

It’s not worth much of anything because that resentment is very real. Different segments of America are having very different pandemic experiences.

I feel for the working class people who still have go into work, have lost their daycare resources, risk exposure to the virus and have the constant stress of layoffs looming over them.

At my local supermarkets, the line of instacart gig economy workers exceeds the number of people shopping for themselves, and you can see the stress is starting to take its toll.

You also have many parts of the country that simply are not having the same experience as urban clusters.

The AR 2nd amendment nutters are a subset of the people most impacted by quarantine
But at the same time, they are all of the current protesters. You don't get to have this one both ways.

I want the people impacted by the quarantine back to work as soon as possible. I worry every day about the service workers who were already struggling before this, and in particular for the small business owners who are getting ruined by this (and who make up the bulk of my own customer base BTW). But at the same time, 2 of my friends have lost parents to the virus in the last week, and my own parents are in their 80s. There needs to be a measured approach to re-opening America, and not the the-virus-is-a-hoax-to-enslave-America or the who-gives-a-fuck-if-some-old-people-die approaches that these MAGA protesters are demanding.

I'm 100% with you on all this, and worry about it literally every day, but once again, these people aren't the MAGA protesters. Also, don't think that just because some people can work from home that they're immune from the threat of layoffs. The effects of this are rippling through all sectors of the economy.
BTW if you don't believe my sincerity here, I posted about this some days ago, about how focusing on the health risks of the virus is causing many to ignore the health risks of the quarantine, particularly with regards to mental health. Feel free to search for it.

So the urban areas that account for more than 80% of the US population is where the outbreaks are happening?

What do you make of the dingbats in Austin protesting?
