So, apparently @POTUS decided to retweet @realDonaldTrump tweet blasting Nordstrom

I understand that they are the same, but it's still sad to see it...

Honestly, Jack Dorsey needs to shut that account down. He cannot let Twitter be complicit in the administration's coercion/extortion.

What pressure is he putting on the company exactly? He expressed an opinion, saying it's unfair.

I don't buy that for a second. Nordstrom's executive management is not stupid. They knew dropping Ivanka's line would generate headlines. They easily could have continued selling the line, and just devoted less rack space or whatever to what wasn't selling well.

I'm deeply skeptical of Nordstrom's story. I believe any competent executive manager would understand the political and PR sensitivity around dropping Ivanka's line. I believe any major clothing retailer could have found a quieter way to handle this if they wanted to.

Any one opting to not understand why he should keep his thoughts to himself on this matter as @POTUS is being willfully obtuse. It's not about a trying to prevent a father from defending his daughter. He is free to do so privately. His status is public therefore if there is no appropriate/ethical way to handle a personal issue [publicly], it should remain personal. If I recall too, Nordstrom explicitly stated the decision to drop her brand was not political, but was entirely based on the selling performance.
Now, you can say "oh they're just saying that to cover their asses"... but that doesn't make sense as if it was a political move, then they'd say so and not hide behind sales performance excuse.

I haven't seen the CEO's complete statements. but based on what the article says, I have no argument with him. Trump is clearly passionate, and certainly having a pro-business President is beneficial to the country.

Plank called Trump "highly passionate"and said having a pro-business president can be a "real asset for the country."
