The problem with calling a group of people 'animals' is that you are implying that they do not deserve human rights. It sounds reasonable when you hear about the inhuman things they do. But the problem with that is that if we remove their human rights then others can remove your human rights, because it is an easy way to refute any argument you might have for why you deserve human rights. Don't listen to them, they are not even properly human.

It is a phantom menace. But the purpose of Trump's "animals" comment isn't necessarily to provoke fear and hatred against immigrants, but against liberals and anyone else who would defy his government.
