Honestly, I couldn't care less about what trump calls ms-13.

What I want to know and not a single person has even attempted to answer, is how bad is this problem?

Neither the tho admin or any of his supporters has quantified the issue or even bothered to layout the facts. What they have done, continuously, is use ms-13 as justification for their immigration policies. That is, they've used a small subset of people to demonize a much larger group.

Just more fear and bogeymen to stoke the base.

MS13 is the post child but are you suggesting there are no ethnic gangs operating within the US and that it’s not a problem? They don’t have to be Hispanic either, Asian or African or Eastern (he’ll maybe Western) Eropean/Russian?

It's hard to believe that liberals have a reputation for being soft on crime. Couldn't imagine where anyone would get that idea.

Such is the though process of people who see the justice system as nothing but an engine to dispense punishment to the accused.

That pesky Constitution, always getting in the way by guaranteeing human rights to animals, right?
The funny thing about enforcing the law in America is how the highest law of our land limits the means by which the government may enforce the law, in order to ensure liberty and justice for all. Those last 2 words there are the ones you hate, right?

Anyway, thanks for proving my point, buddy.

What point is that exactly? You'll have to be specific because with all of your incoherent, incessant babbling a point is really hard to pick out.
At no point did I advocate denying them their constitutionally protected due process rights. Did I? What I was doing was pointing out the ridiculous position of the more pusillanimous posters on this message board who are taking offense at the President's use of the word animal. Newsflash - MS13 gang members are, literally and figuratively, animals. Fucking get over it.

I have no idea where you pulled that from (actually I do) but that has nothing to do with what I said.

You have a problem with listening, your problem is you don't listen.

Who said they weren't a problem, besides no one? Just so shocking to see yet another straw man from you
The issue is how big of a problem. In its time, another ethnic gang, the Italian-American mafia, was far far more powerful than MS13 is today. And yet we didn't have to take drastic measures, like suspending human and/or constitutional rights, in order to combat them, and America is still here.

I heard on NPR yesterday that Trump referred to immigrants as "animals" and people were super offended. It was complete with a sound-byte of a citizen who was upset because she felt she and her people were beint reduced to non-human status and that was wrong.

So today I hear on conservative stations that the quote was taken out of context because Trump received a loaded question about MS-13 or something.

Typical liberal media outrage. This is why I have no intentions on ever supporting the Democratic ticket until they change this whiny-@#$%! . (For the record, I have not voted for any republicans either )

When you call someone an animal that is precisely what you are doing. You are saying specifically that they do not deserve human rights because they are not acting humane.

Animals are undeserving of constitutional rights so, by calling them animals, you are obviously advocating denying them their constitutionally protected due process rights. And you are obviously accusing anyone who disagrees with doing that of being soft on crime and of exposing the country to danger.
Just because you're too fucking stupid, or (more likely) too fucking dishonest, to understand my clearly stated arguments doesn't make them any less valid. So get the fuck over that.

Oh my bad, I thought you were mentioning people being over dramatic.

it's possible. The other possibility is that they are saying WTF get off your high horse about everything!

Starting to see why us liberals are getting shafted in the elections and on major issues.

It's doesn't help that we want to use our brains and not our feels. How's that for irony.

I think it is also worth noting that there is a difference between when I call a group of people animals and when the President of the United States does. When I do it I'm stating my personal opinion. When the President does so he is speaking as a personification of our government.

Guess what. Your biggest omission is that humans actually have feelings too. Some things are visceral. And that's actually an acceptable part of human nature.

I just called someone a "turd" in another thread. The person is deserving of that title. I do not actually think the person is made or consisting entirely of feces. But when I see his photo, I am reminded of a steaming pile of feces. Feces certainly don't have rights, because they have no brain and lack the ability to communicate or form social bonds. The only bonds they form are physical.

After that, it reminded me of this thread and how people are sometimes called "Animals." Perhaps some people actually think they are an animal, like a polar bear or lemur. I'm sure those people exist. Even some people think some are actually reptillian, thank you Conan the Barbarian.

In conclusion, Donald Trump must think MS-13 members are actually lemur's. Therefore, he will deny them their constitutional human rights because they are in fact, lemurs.

Dogwhistle. Trigger. Literal. Phallic (Isn't everything?) Words analyzed beyond measure.

So, let me ask you, when Trump said that they were animals what do you think he meant by that?
Do you think he thought they were lemurs?
Do you think he meant that of course they are animals because all humans are animals in an ontological sense (do you believe he knows that ontological means)?

Please explain this to us. Because words have meaning, and the Presidents carry more than most.

If we can't agree that 'shit the president says has meaning' then perhaps we shouldn't win.

I'd rather win elections and get shit done rather than make you feel better by being right and ok. Bigger picture and all.

I don't see anybody in this thread suggesting that these gang members are not a problem. They are violent and will kill you at the drop of a hat. Just like any gang. Where is tweet after tweet about the Blood, the Crips, the Mob any other violent gangs?. MS-13 should be arrested and/or deported. The problem is Trump and his purposeful generalized non specific hyperbole, used to demonize people, falsely accusing them of being "supporters" of these gangs and spread his brand of lies and alternative facts.

He has said they were arresting and deporting "thousands" of them. Ok...put up or shut up. So, he has rounded up 'thousands" of them in the US illegally such that they could perpetually be deporting thousands at a time, unless it's just the same couple of thousand and they keep coming back in, which questions the Trump administrations border policies and enforcement practices competence and I still would doubt the accuracy of the count.

Starting with the campaign and continuing to this day, is how the media breathlessly hangs on every word from this moron's Twitter feed. If, two weeks after he declared his candidacy, the media would have just reported something like "Donald Trump said something stupid, dishonest or exaggerated on Twitter again today" every time he said something stupid, dishonest or exaggerated on Twitter, I'm not sure we'd be where we are today. Is it newsworthy when the President takes a shit? No. His tweets are his way of taking a shit on the public every day.
