The Vice President has no Constitutional powers, except succession if required. So the only power the VP has is what the President gives him.

By the way, speaking of pols who discriminate against gays, checkout this woman. Talk about homophobic.

I know right! Remember when this bigot said something similar?

why not? This is how most leaks and how most reporting as been done for generations.

Now you can only trust it if the press is forced to reveal their sources?

Why would I ever trust something put out by a press that has an agenda to make ratings/sales/relevancy first and actual real accurate news a far far second (or third, fourth, 100th, whatever), a press who is usually staffed with liberals, supposedly quoting someone who they won't say who, who even if real, is from a campaign that just got steamrolled by an anti-Establishment candidate that that steamrolled candidate represents?

I guess a better way to put that is: Why would any implicitly trust this, unless it actually happened to stroke their mental viewpoint of the world? I mean, WhoTF actually trusts the news media to accurately and without bias report balanced and non-slanted news? Does anyone?! Who are these gullible fools, name them so we can laugh at their stupidity.

I merged this thread with the one that already existed about the subject.

Yesterday, the New York Times reported an indisputable bombshell: Donald Trump has been offering prospective Vice Presidential nominees the chance to run the entire executive office — domestically and internationally:
One day this past May, Donald Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reached out to a senior adviser to Gov. John Kasich of Ohio, who left the presidential race just a few weeks before. As a candidate, Kasich declared in March that Trump was “really not prepared to be president of the United States,” and the following month he took the highly unusual step of coordinating with his rival Senator Ted Cruz in an effort to deny Trump the nomination. But according to the Kasich adviser (who spoke only under the condition that he not be named), Donald Jr. wanted to make him an offer nonetheless: Did he have any interest in being the most powerful vice president in history?
When Kasich’s adviser asked how this would be the case, Donald Jr. explained that his father’s vice president would be in charge of domestic and foreign policy.

Then what, the adviser asked, would Trump be in charge of?
“Making America great again” was the casual reply.

This election has become one big reality TV show. I think the majority of the media has long given up on actual Policy/real issues with Trump.

OP sounds like he's absorbing the headline style guide from B-list media websites.

The bigger news is who his campaign chief is, and who he took money from, and what he did in his past work.

It's funny to me this kind of thing surprises anyone.

Trump has no interest what-so-ever in actually being president. This whole thing is at worst a total goof, or at best an accident of the fact the Republican side just bowed out with any real candidate, leaving a void Trump slipped into.

Trump actually winning (pretty much by accident at this point) would mean him pawning off as much of the real responsibility of being president onto others as he could get away with.

Trump likes cameras on him, making dumb speeches and all the showy aspects of the gig.... but *anyone* who honestly believes the man has any interest in sitting through policy meetings, breifings, wading knee deep in any of the actual "presidential shit" is more out of their mind than Trump is.

OFCOURSE he wants a VP to schlub the actual job off on! Ofcourse he'd have lackies doing much of the rest of it for him also.

Hillary would probably have to murder a child or something at this point to lose to Trump. Can't we just fast forward to the coronation already and crown our first Queen?

Repubs followed the formula to create an irrational leader cult & didn't provide the leader. Rick Parry did not magically appear. Enter Trump, a man who knows how to run a leader cult. Among the rest, only Cruz had the vaguest idea of how to do that.

Trump actually winning (pretty much by accident at this point) would mean him pawning off as much of the real responsibility of being president onto others as he could get away with.

Clinton thrives on it.

I hope you're right. She'll make a fine president. Even Donald said so.

Trump would only want to be president in a king sense, not a hand of the king sense. 'The King eats, and the hand takes the shit.' Looks like we know what Pence will be doing for four years on the off chance trump wins.

It almost seems with comments that Kasich made, that he's not in favor of a Trump Presidency. I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually supported Hillary, particularly if he sees Hillary's chances of unifying people better than Trumps. It appears that he's waiting it out at the moment. It must be hard to be a Republican and have some integrity.

Well, what did you expect from an ego-maniacal sociopath? Couple that with the stories from the ghostwriter of "Art of the Deal" (can't focus for more than a few minutes at a time) and you have a real winner of a candidate.
