Former President Donald Trump said in a social media post that he’s been informed by special counsel Jack Smith that he is a target of the criminal investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Thats kinda how it works, Donald. You break the law and people come looking for you, they arrest you, they indict you. Who the F does Donald Trump think he is??? He can break the law then HOW DARE THEY come after me??? Donald Trump is obviously operating under a different set of rules, or a perceived different set of rules. And, How dare HIM.

Just what swing voters are in the market for next year: A man under criminal indictment in 3-4 different jurisdictions who can almost only talk about how he really won the last election.

I hear the white racist wanna be serial killer demographic is definitely up for grabs.

I wonder if by the time the various prosecutors are done if Trump will crack 100 felony indictments. Certainly seems like there's a good chance.

I have the best most amazing indictments. Nobody has ever seen indictments like these. They, big strong grown men, come up to me with tears in their eyes and say "Sir, what incredible indictments".

Odd why he thinks this will distract from documents hearing today by leaking this morning instead of announcing it Sunday when he received notice.

While he may be indicted, this is one of those cases that’ll be very difficult to actually prosecute and obtain a conviction. Trump’s easiest defense is “I only acted in accordance with the advice of counsel, who assured me nothing we did was illegal”. I mean, he had renowned constitutional law scholar John Eastman advising him that Pence could absolutely intervene on Trump’s behalf, so how is asking him to do that a crime?

This won’t be a slam dunk like the documents case.

While I agree this will be more difficult to win than the documents case the case here is very strong too. Here's an interesting piece on it:

People who voted for Trump feel free to chime in. You should have an inside angle to this answer.

Never let them see you sweat. Say it isn't so.

"One day? You don't know what to make of [it]," added Trump's former White House lawyer Ty Cobb. "Two days though suggests that the DOJ may be considering his value as a witness."

An unnamed source told The Messenger that Costello would not have sent Giuliani in for one day, let alone two, without asking something in return.

"I'm sure the pressure is immense," the source said. "At this point in Rudy's age and career, does that matter?"

Whether US Justice ever was/is or not, the principle that Justice is Blind is a good principle and an American principle from its' Founding. People who use it will get Justice.

I've come to the conclusion that Trump and his minions somehow had a sack of shit implanted in their heads, had those sacks of shit get lit up and have been furiously stomping on each other's heads trying put those flames out while blaming Papa Joe, Pelosi and buttered emails for their affliction. I came to this conclusion because there is absolutely no logical reason to explain their viscous aberrant anti-social behavior.

Sadly, he could be sitting in prison (fat chance IMO, I'll believe it when I see it) and a bunch of those "swing voters"--aka, morons who think "both parties are the same, I can't decide!", or "I don't care about politics until the day before the election" wankers--will give him their vote because they've bought into the whole persecuted underdog tripe that Trump tries to sell.

At least at that point if he's elected from prison I'll get to wear a "I like my Presidents to not be convicted felons" t-shirt. For a month or so, until I'm gunned down legally under "stand your ground" since I live in FL. That storyline would be as modern American as you can get. We manage to elect a fat cowardly draft dodging gilded grifter from prison.

If Jack smith is bringing charges then there probably is more info/evidence than just people doing what they thought trump wanted. I’m guessing Giuliani will be involved as well and we’ll finally get to hear that there actually was a plan B if pence didn’t help.

Also targeted on a state level are 16 people who were part of the fake elector scheme. The Attorney General of Michigan has charged the 16 with several felonies including " conspiracy to commit forgery, two counts of forgery, one count of conspiracy to commit uttering and publishing and one count of uttering and publishing – all of which carry a maximum of 14 years in prison – as well as one count of conspiracy to commit election law forgery and two counts of election law forgery, which carry a maximum of five years in prison."

We'll see how all that goes.

And despite all of the factual accusatory common knowledge being made known to anyone with even gram of interest in these indictments of Trump and his stooges, the spin coming out of the GOP camp is nauseating irt the depth and breadth of their denials, shifting blame and disingenuous divertive false accusations being sermonized from their stumps and pulpits. Living in a bubble full of lies is bad for one's physical and mental health. It's a one way ticket to oblivion of which it seems the Trump cult fan club's sole reason for existing is to take the rest us down with them.
