Due to his mental illness(es), he is not capable.

I really wonder if he will be capable of remaining silent in the courtroom during trial and not scream out "liar" when a witness testifies against him.
Tbh this may be their ultimate back pocket defense. Essentially he's not fit to stand trial and cannot be held accountable for what he says. No reason he can't still be elected naturally.

I'm OK with them running an insanity plea. Provided the sentence for that defense is to throw Traitor into a mental hospital for a minimum of 10 years.

Can we just be honest with ourselves?

Nothing is going to happen to this guy and he has a better than 50% chance of being president again.

Only if we somehow select 12 of you as the jury.

He should know from Bin Laden..
America holds a grudge like no one else.
Try to fuck us over.. and we will kill you.

He has a better than 50% chance of being the republican nominee, at the cost of destroying the Republican Party, and a snowball's chance in hell of winning the general election.

Also targeted on a state level are 16 people who were part of the fake elector scheme. The Attorney General of Michigan has charged the 16 with several felonies including " conspiracy to commit forgery, two counts of forgery, one count of conspiracy to commit uttering and publishing and one count of uttering and publishing – all of which carry a maximum of 14 years in prison – as well as one count of conspiracy to commit election law forgery and two counts of election law forgery, which carry a maximum of five years in prison."

We'll see how all that goes.

Id like to see this prosecuted.

Don’t forget what a third party run possibly could do to change the outcome, until trump is the actual loser we cannot let our guard down, remember 2016.

Though maybe not official, for the 2024 election we will have the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and the MAGA Morons party.

Not sure why it isn’t getting more coverage, but the pledge the candidates need to take also includes they can’t run as a 3rd party. But yeah it won’t stop the orange monkey if for some strange reason he doesn’t get the nomination.

But no worries if Manchin gets the No Labels nomination. He’ll get only never orange monkey votes. The worry is still Cornel West.

Interesting to note another rich person on trial (not named "Trump"), is finding out contacting and indirectly trying to intimidate witnesses gets them booked into jail...
"Prosecutors sought to revoke bail after what they described as a series of violations by Bankman-Fried, including contacting potential witnesses against him..."

Fulton County , Georgia DA is presenting her case to the grand jury next week regarding Trump and his cronies attempt to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia, and expects to come away with more than a dozen indictments, some of which are expected to be for Trump.
Well, this is interesting. The GA prosecutors say they have text and email messages which DIRECTLY connect members of Trump's legal team to the early January 2021 voting system breach in Coffee County.

Gonna be awkward when this guy somehow dodges all this and becomes president again...

In that case I guess all charged should be dropped.
Should we just call the election now and put Trump back into office now or wait?
When should I start to address him as “Dear Leader”?

I'm as anti-Trump, and anti-Republican (redundant as you can get) and I'll be surprised if Trump sees meaningful penalties. And I wouldn't be surprised to see him win the Presidency, perhaps because of my extremely low opinion of the American public. And the willingness of the GOP, including shit judges like Cannon, to go to bat for him.

I don't say any of that with any certainty, but I'm also not overly confident that I'll be satisfied with the outcomes by election times, let's just say this. This country is deeply corrupt and ignorant.

re: Gaetz, can't someone dangle some supposed underage girls at him or something? Maybe he and Giuliani can show up at the same house to meet a team of undercover detectives.

Can you explain what would need to change from the last election to the next that would allow trump to win?

Do you think there is now a fake electors scheme in place that can’t be thwarted? For that matter, how does trump get Kamala to certify the election with there be electors?

What demographic do you see that voted against trump, now voting for trump?

What demographic(s) do you see coming out to vote for trump that didn’t vote in the last election?

What reason do you see that would cause less than the 81 million people who voted not to vote this time?

I share your pessimism about the American electorate but unless you can explain away why the next election would give us different results than the last election, saying you aren’t hopeful isn’t logical.

This all is just McCarthyism 2, dipshit boogaloo...with an actual McCarthy at the helm of Congress. The republican party needs to be burned to the ground, ashes scooped up and sent on a rocket to the sun. And a mass educational effort to sort out the brain rot that still exists.

Since you asked...

There seem to be more minorities willing to vote for Trump, though I mainly looked at where I am (FL). Trump won the Cuban vote and split the non-Cuban latino vote. Which to me is like roaches voting for Raid but whatever.

As usual it will probably come down to the economy, and I think the GOP and the rich will do anything they can to tank it before the vote. Who knows how things will be, and naturally I assume they'll succeed

I think overall I'm most worried about Biden's age, and how that might impact voting. Trump isn't young either, or healthy, and there's a greater-than-normal chance of a medical issue with both. Biden is older. People should correctly be thinking, who is the VP because that could very well be the President in a couple years. Is Harris going to inspire people to vote, not have an impact, or turn people off? If Trump picks another idiot like u-betcha lady, maybe I'll feel better (like that moron Kari Lake).

Flip side, abortion and some of the fascist moves by the GOP hopefully might get more younger voters out, and especially women. Maybe I *should* be more optimistic.
