Vic kinda said it. It owned the white house liberal press corps. I mean really, did you see the look on their faces?
How is that owning the "liberal press corps"? They dont have to pay for any of it and they get loads more stories about how Trump is super corrupt.
I can see them, as Americans, being upset at the way the highest office in the land is being debased and used for personal gain though.

If anything it's you, as an American citizen, that's being owned by this.

Bedbuggy Doral will have only the finest cold burgers and fries for everyone. The counter intelligence clusterfuck is as disturbing as the self-serving corruption. We're probably in for another Handjob in Helsinki. Will this be a Fondling in Florida?

Please let this national shame be stress eating bucket after bucket of KFC.

My working theory at this point is that Trump really thought that Clinton, Obama, and others were peddling their official influence for personal financial gain while in office. He believes they did that because it's what he'd do. Now it's his turn.

That’s a pretty common trait in sociopaths, they believe everyone else thinks like they do.

I’m trying to figure out a way Trump could more flagrantly violate the Constitution than by using US foreign policy to require foreign powers to personally pay him money in order to participate in a diplomatic event.

This is just comical levels of corruption at this point. It’s kind of amazing that conservatives are willing to sacrifice every last shred of their dignity and self respect for this crook.
Dying on the hill that Trump built (hopefully). Who woulda thunk it.

Absolutely. I don't think Trump is malicious. I think he honestly believes everything he does is right and just by virtue of the fact that he does it. That's how sick he is.

On a serious note you might wanna check out why you get satisfaction in other peoples despair. While @ the line of thought, who else of notable character can you name in history who has taken pleasure in other peoples discomfort. You might be in good company, who knows?
Yes, President Eisenhower got satisfaction from the fall of the AXIS powers and Hitler's, Mussolini's and Hirohito's despair over it.

Why would anyone be in despair over where a G7 meeting is held?

A limited 4th Circuit Court of Appeal already found for Trump in a similar emoluments case and the whole 4th is going to rehear the case in December which should settle the matter.

No reason to post further in this thread until the 4th Court ruling. It's either legal as I think it is or it's illegal as most the other posters in here assume. The Court will decide, if not the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals or the United States Supreme Court on appeal.

Not that I don't think a handful of posters in the Anandtech Politics and News forum aren't the be all and end all of jurisprudence in the United States, even those not from this country, but forgive me if i actually wait.

"U.S. appeals court hands win to Trump in hotel 'emoluments' case"

Reading comprehension helps:

The three-judge panel said the attorneys general lacked legal standing to bring the case.

Not because there was no case, but because the attorneys who brought the case had no legal standing.

"The court said the District of Columbia and Maryland’s interest “in enforcing the Emoluments Clauses is so attenuated and abstract that their prosecution of this case readily provokes the question of whether this action against the President is an appropriate use of the courts, which were created to resolve real cases and controversies.”

Basically saying the only law legal body that can try a presidential crime is congress with powers of impeachment, conviction and removal.

In short, that case doesn't mean what you want it to mean.

You didn’t wait though. You just posted a legal case that was thrown out thinking that was the end of it. As mentioned by another poster, your failure to comprehend what you read doesn’t support your conclusions.

But thanks for reinforcing what was originally said about you.

so I’m curious, apart from the current appeals court ruling which is only based on the plaintiffs standing why do you think it’s legal?

So, uhh, libs are the enemy, like the Nazis?

It's not about where the meeting is to be held but about the President enriching himself by holding it at a property he owns. That's against the Constitution. If he weren't President Doral would probably be fine.

While the case you mention is about emoluments there's little similarity otherwise.

Come on we both know de-bugging will be paid for by the Government as part of the contract.

Trump claims Doral was the BEST place to have the G7. Who the fuck are they kidding?

Well, from Trump's point of view it is the best place. Even if he hosts it "at cost" as he claims, he's getting millions of dollars worth of free advertising.
It would be funny as hell if everyone invited declined.

Yes I had fun cheering for all the smashing and the drowning at the end of the Titanic too. Team iceberg all the way.

It’s weird isn’t it? He’s like those fans in Toronto that were cheering when KD got hurt in the NBA finals. It’s normal to be a fan but it takes someone “special” to relish in the pain and sorrow of others over something you’d normally find appalling if the team dynamic didn’t exist.

There is just something not right about those die hard trump voters.
