this thread is about Trump which you haven't even mentioned, instead you attacked and disparaged other posters in this thread with a broad and incorrect label.

and you are really questioning why you would be insulted?
I suppose that to someone that is a conservative like me anyone on the left would seem far left. I stand corrected.

The entire definition of being "conservative" went out of the window before Reagan.

And a lot of those ideals have steadily went into the toilet.

i suppose that if someone were a true conservative they would realize they have been sold fear, hate and lies by the Republican party for decades and see that Donald Trump and the alt-right are the culmination of those fear, hate and lies and he has nothing to do with being truly conservative.

Every American should have to watch his farewell address especially the part about the military industrial complex.

Funny how the military industrial complex never went away. It is a defining part of American reality now.

To me the rise of the wacko right coincided with Goldwater's presidential campaign. I mean how many people heard of the John Birch Society before Goldwater ran for president. It was already there in a very minor status until he ran. Kind of like the alt-right's rise to power now.

The military industrial complex was born of necessity.

I like how he spoke about balance. We have certainly lost that.

Yes WW2 taught us that a strong defense is necessary to the security of the nation. He was warning the public to not allow for it to supersede other concerns and our defense spending is the highest percentage of GDP among western nations.

Ike couldn't get elected today for anything in the republican party, the republican platform back then sounds like a far left manifesto compared to the current republicans.

I bet if you ran the same surveys/studies back then for racial resentment, it would only be worse than the still dominant factor it is now. It's still literally among the best predictor of party and particularly Trump affiliation other than race itself. Back then there was no way in hell desegregation would've passed at the ballot box, and even now it's questionable whether it could if were a GOP primary vote. So the alt-right race realists didn't really "rise" to power as much as poke through the veil of pretend decency.

This was before the post civil rights party realignment.

I never knew Eisenhower was so old back then.
He was in his early seventies. But now vane guys get the eyes tucked, dye their hair, get hair from the back of top of their neck and put it on their head. Shit, some of those uber rich elderly males look like the walking embalmed. I'll take old grand daddy looking Eisenhower any day, Hell, I'm starting to look like him myself.

You ought to see George Washington these days.

He's really showing his age.
Haha, what I mean is that during his prime from when I remember him in history he was already pretty old. The values of people from that time and people like him are 2 generations ago, not just 1 like I thought. Its actually pretty remarkable. Einhower's kids are about up for retirement. The world is alot further removed from the values of that time than I thought. To me... I just thought it was remarkable is all.

Donald Trump’s campaign has confirmed their candidate’s surprise guest for tomorrow’s debate: President Obama’s Kenyan born half brother, Malik Obama – a Trump supporter.

One of my best times in P & N happened years ago in some war related thread where I took that speech and put contemporary references in where it might reveal its source and posted it as my opinion. I was told I didn't have the military judgment or experience to make such a case. Naturally, had I posted it with source some other excuse wou

Yeah, it was so nice of Eisenhower to warn us right as he was running for the door, and leaving us with the worst relations we ever had with the USSR. Absolute piece of shit human being. Eisenhower was basically Trump 1.0, an unqualified worthless fuck relegating more policy to his VP than anyone prior in America's history, making exceptions whenever he had a folky old anecdotal sense of what do do (aka stay a stooge of France and the UK allowing them to continue their imperialistic reigns around the world), allowing his massive ego to put the USA in incredible danger (see: the U-2 incident).

To be perfectly honest, how many of you can tell me which particular incident OP mentioned [WITHOUT READING THE ORIGINAL POST] caused his "going full retard"? Donald has a knack of making us forget old outrageous droppings with a fresh and new ones every single week.

Yea I saw this, dug around and it appears to be legit. And just reeks of desperation. Does he not know Obama's not running?
Still not getting it. One look from him, Hillary freezes? what......? Oh, it's so ironic that he's a Trump supporter? What in gods name does this have to do with Hillary?
