I'm not sure if his wording was just a giant gaffe, or if he believes that now he has a purple heart and is equivalent to servicemen who have one in that regard.

"I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier," Trump said Tuesday after he claimed Lt. Col. Louis Dorfman gave him his Purple Heart.

If he wanted to get a purple heart, then why did he get a medical deferral from the military? Gee, he could play football, and baseball, and soccer, but couldn't manage to serve in the military with those bone spurs that have never seemed to bother him throughout life.

I will say that it's odd to see Trump drooling over a Purple Heart while he's telling us that he'll be selling out our allies and NATO to Putin and Russia. I'm sure many will cite some sort of jump the shark theory coupled with his repeated attacks on the gold star parents, but I'm not convinced. After all this is the same guy that had no adverse effect from attacking a very popular Pope.

It's sort of like going from the regular season of sports to the playoffs. Gimmicks and tricks and stunts during the regular season get you on Sportcenter top plays. But nothing really matters until you are in the elimination round and everyone is paying attention to you.

This is the real elimination round and the fake gold varnish has been rubbed off and all we have left is the stinky, festering turd that it was covering all along. What was fun and entertaining to watch now has reach a "Oh shit, this guy could legitimately be helming our country!". Entirely different stage and all lights are on him. People were hoping he'd pivot and ease back on the entertainment antics. But instead he's doubled down on them. The shine is gone and the stink is starting to take over.

umm, for the past year he was attack the republicans, the lmsm was cool with it. now he is attacking hiliary, the lmsm is not cool with it.
