Like these guys?

"Navajo Nation president Russell Begaye on Monday said he’s also prepared to fight Trump — who ignored Navajo requests to speak to him before a decision was made.

“The Bears Ears Monument is of critical importance, not only to the Navajo Nation but to many tribes in the region,” Begaye said. “The Navajo Nation will defend Bears Ears.”

Vice President Jonathan Nez called Trump’s decision “unlawful” and that they would “continue to fight in honor of our ancestral warriors who fought for our ways of life, for our culture and for our land too.”

Navajo Nation promises lawsuit against Trump’s national monument rollback

"The tribal government of the Navajo Nation is preparing to sue President Trump to reverse his decision to significantly shrink Utah’s Bears Ears National Monument.

The Navajos, who consider much of the original 1.4 million-acre monument area to be sacred and culturally significant, plan to file a federal lawsuit with four other nearby tribes who had been pushing for the land protections for decades before then-President Barack Obama created it last year."

Yep, sounds like really big support. Only the biggest support for sure.

I dont get it. the government still owns the land. its a national monument not a national park there is a HUGE difference between the two.

I am betting you just made it up.

Provide a source.
OK, even a publication such as Media Matters points out there are dissenting voices among the Navajo tribe, even if they try to cast them as a small minority. Of course if you read this forum I doubt if you think that President Trump won the Presidency in the first place.

"VELSHI: Let me ask you about this, Ethel, the president made a big deal of pointing out that he had some support from members of the Navajo Nation and certainly brought some folks on stage --

NEZ: Well we weren’t invited, Ali.

VELSHI: Obviously he’s trying to indicate that there are some Native Americans who are in support of this action

NEZ: Well, it's a small minority. When we were talking about letting Obama protect this area, we had a large majority of our Navajo citizens, and we as a sovereign nation, our own tribal council approved a resolution saying that we want the Bears Ears designation and even the six out of the seven chapters in that Utah Navajo region supported the Bears Ears designation. And so to have the optics of this, how the lady there, the Native Americans there around the president, was just concerning to the Navajo Nation." ......

You were being incredibly disingenuous with your statement earlier and your link only showed a 15% disapproval of making bears ears a protected area

As I expected you asked for a source and I provided it.
What statement was "incredibly disingenuous"?
It doesn't really matter what the approval numbers were, i considered it an ill thought out and extreme land grab that removes much of the use of the area from the people that live in the area.

99+ percent of the public feedback on the proposed monument reductions were opposed to it. And Zinke admits it.

Here is a rundown and get this 90.9% of Utahns from the public comments opposed the reductions.

I will repeat that;

90.9% of Utahns from the public comments opposed the reductions.

But Zinke ignored that public input becuase its not about what the public wants. Its what mining corporations want. All the other lies are just that lies.

Key take-aways from the analysis:

  • 99.2% of all comments received opposed Trump's executive order reviewing the 27 parks

  • Percent of comments that opposed review of key parks: 95.6% for Bears Ears National Monument (Utah), 92.1% for Gold Butte National Monument (Nevada), 95.3% for Grand-Stairacse Escalante National Monument (Utah), 92.6% for Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument (New Mexico), 89.4% for Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument (Maine)

  • 80% of commenters who specified their location resided in a state containing a park under review; 90.9% of Utahns, whose home state has been ground zero for many attacks on public lands, opposed the review

  • Commenters who mentioned concerns about the preservation of cultural artifacts, which has been an ongoing concern in the areas now designated Bears Ears National Monument and Nevada's Gold Butte National Monument, were 98.5% opposed to the review

Previous Monument land grabs under President Clinton restricted grazing and wood gathering, not an extreme view to think the one by Obama may end up the same way.
Grazing is the single most destructive use of the public lands and an utter waste of tax dollars. Welfare ranchers need to find productive employment and stop sucking at the public tit.

Yep Americans speak with overwhelming majority like 99+ % to preserve these monuments during the public input time.

I quote my own post from above.
