Trying to read the tea leaves it looks like an attempt to get data on how to better propagandize Trump testicle bearers by getting insight into how far down the rabbit hole they've been dragged. Looking for the best outlets to use against them and gauging how far gone they already are and how much more excrement they need to be fed for their indoctrination to be complete.

This is actually a scary move. Trump's strategy is to lie as much as possible, and when called out on it the reaction is not to actually start telling the truth, but eliminate the single biggest entity that actually calls out the lies - the media.
