Jobless claims fell to their lowest level in 40 years if you simply count the number of people who filed and if you look at it from as an expression of rate it's even better.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/timwors...ver-been-as-low-as-they-are-now/#4e136ab93174

Housing construction has reached its largest gains in 34 years.

http://www.bostonherald.com/busines...truction_jumped_by_largest_amount_in_34_years

The Middle class had the fastest growth in income in 30+ years and the amount of people in poverty saw its steepest decline in 40+ years.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...st-year-since-the-end-of-the-great-recession/

Federal employment is well below historical norms.

https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-ove...ables/total-government-employment-since-1962/

Things are so good that the federal reserve will most likely be raising interest rates.

So which of these numbers will trump be improving through his and Republican policies?

My prediction is Republicans will simply be taking credit for this and will pivot from describing this economy in a negative light to one of glowing reviews.

In decades. I must be getting old, because I don't find "decades" to be an impressive span of time anymore.

Trump will double economic growth, 2% is pathetic.

We begin the cycle anew. Republicans fuck up the economy, democrats get hired to fix it, people complain the entire time that it takes longer to fix something than to break it, dems eventually fix the economy, we put republicans back in charge...

The electorate is truly retarded.

This is a massive simplification of the situation. Our economy grows and contracts. We have cycles. We have had two recessions in 15 years. We are due for a slow down in the economy regardless of who won this election. Anybody who believes Bush II inherited a great economy from ~6 years of boom under Clinton is a delusional. The cracks were already there and crumbled within his first year in office. Only to be shit on by 9-11. And then magically 6ish years later it crashed again. We are about set for another recession being at the ~6 years of economic growth period.

Sure, and what policies will contribute to that? Infrastructure spending that the dems have been asking for for the past eight years?

That wall doesn't build itself.

Trade tariffs and "fixed" NAFTA will bring back tons of jobs.

Apple was in the news today because they are asking Foxconn about the feasibility of moving iPhone production to the USA.

What an impartial source.

That Trump will take us to 4 or 5% real GDP growth is a statement of faith. Blind unadulterated unquestioning faith.

Impartial or not, the guy is betting his reputation. What does he have to gain by saying X is going to happen if it ends up not happening? The election is over, no need for false promises.

2% is healthy. Anything above 3% is considered "bubble" territory.

The wall also doesn't pay for itself. When and if NAFTA is renegotiated and jobs don't magically start coming back, then what? What lame excuse will you have ready? That the economy is cyclical and the downturn on trumps watch is bad timing and has nothing to do with his policies?

Can you show me a post from your history when you said as much before or after the great recession?

I am going to miss the best President of my life time. That's for sure. Too bad he can't be accepted for being too cool and half black.

Let the idiots idolize Donald Trump. The most they will get from him is an over priced overnight stay at his gold painted hotels.

It's not rocket surgery. Americans like to buy shit. most of it is built overseas. Building that shit creates jobs.

Tariffs punish corporations that build overseas, and give the government income that can supplement tax income.

Corporations that don't want to pay tariffs build stateside, which brings the jobs back to the USA.

Any company worth a damn will be looking at contingencies.

If you think they aren't trying to get down doing that in reverse you're kidding yourself.

That is still a net gain. Overseas production hurts us two-fold: we lose out on the manufacturing jobs, and China gets a trade deficite advantage over us. Even if automation and robots reduce the number of local manufacturing jobs, it's still good for our overall economy to take that income away from China.
