Here's something I think interesting. Comey was invited to talk to the Congressional committee, but he refused and I was concerned that maybe something was said that Comey wanted to keep quiet. After all why wouldn't he want to present his side of the story?
Then I found out that the invitation was for a closed door session, which is completely closed and useless to the public. I just saw this article

According to this he's willing to testify IF it is a public hearing. Yes I want that.

If you could lure Sean Spicer out of the bushes you might could ask him a few questions about it.I just want a nice detailed and articulate argument on the parallels between this and Nixon and just how much worse this is and that it's an Injustice to the American people. They deserve better.
A man can dream.
There is an issue I don't know the answer to and that's this. Comey is a private citizen and in itself that means he's free to speak his mind. But are there limits because of his past? Is there an equivalent to an "official secrets act" or non-disclosure agreement which prevents full and complete testimony?
Anyone know?

Found the answer. As a civil servant he is still forbidden to disclose confidential information or discuss ongoing investigations. I thought as much, but I wasn't completely certain as to the specifics.
The bright side of his firing is that he owes no loyalty to Trump and can freely say anything nonclassified that transpired between them. Respect and regard are no longer due and Trump works for him in the same sense that all the elected of government work for every citizen.
No, it's a little bit of "fuck you, asshole, I'm going to salvage what little remains of my reputation and I'm gonna use your corpse, figuratively speaking, to do it." If he were a patriot he wouldn't have fucked around with the electoral process. His "mild nausea" over his role in getting this 270 pound sack of spray-tanned Oompa-Loompa shit elected isn't anywhere even close to the guilt he should be feeling.
The same crowd that went on and on for years about the Muslim President from Kenya want everyone to know that Trump and Russia is boring. I'll keep that in mind. This comey thing is so boring, probably because it's related to the very boring obsession with russia.
I get it. Russia = democracy, and comey is important to russia, but not identical to russia, and therefore not identical to democracy (obviously). I used = informally.
But if russia = democracy, then what's the problem?
You are the problem.
Nah either an operative or retarded agent
nah, just a simple disrupter/troll.
Isn't that the exact kind of agent in the white house?
I would temper your expectations if you think Comey wants a public hearing just so that he can air all of Donald's dirty laundry to the public. It's not his style, unless we're talking about Hillary Clinton. The man is chock full of hubris and upholding his own idea of "honor", which is not going to lead him to sharing much of interest. I'd be surprised if he even talks about his conversations with Donald concerning the loyalty pledge and whether Donald was the target of an investigation.
He probably also has millions coming to him in the private sector if he doesn't throw the president under the bus, which I'm sure he'll somehow align with his desire to "serve the country".
Exactly why I'm not all that excited about Comeit's statements. I keep reading these articles about how damaging it's likely to be and I just purse my lips and smh.I would temper your expectations if you think Comey wants a public hearing just so that he can air all of Donald's dirty laundry to the public.
