I've always believed this. I don't think he EVER wanted the job and got into the race on a whim. Then when he actually won the nomination, he had an "oh shit" realization and decided to make sure he didn't win the Presidency (which he would have never done anyway).
As for him damaging his brand, he'll still be a hero for standing up for the common man amongst his red state constituency. I'm a libertarian who usually (but not always) votes for the Republican nominee but I really don't want Trump to win. The problem is that to me, Hillary is only a tiny hairline more agreeable as a candidate - these are by FAR the two least desirable candidates from either party in my lifetime and I'm disgusted that one of them will be President in a few short months. I'll either abstain or vote for Gary Johnson but I cannot vote for either of the other two in good conscience.

Whether it's his debate performance or whatever ("microphone broken", Megyn Kelly, etc.), this dude doesn't realize he make things just 1000x worse by crying and whining like a bitch for weeks, if not months following EACH incident.
Most idiotic things he does could be forgotten in time, but this guy is so stupid he needs to make a fool out of himself in addition. Or he really does it intentionally. Most 10 year olds have more maturity, I am serious.
