As the nothingburger slowly star-wipes into a gargantuan shit sandwich, I'm increasingly seeing the spin shift from "there's nothing there to find" to "okay, fine, they found something...but only because they weren't going to stop looking until they did!" I.e., the whole point of the exercise has been to "get" Trump at any cost, so of course if you dig deep enough, you'll find some trifle, some teensy-tiny "process crime" with which to bully and coerce your innocent targets and ultimately subvert the will of the American people.

I like how he qualifies thing that can't really be qualified. He "lightly" looked into a Moscow deal - border agents used a "mild" form of tear gas - he's going to put in a "major" complaint about the 9th circuit. I'm reminded of the scene in A Few Good Men when Lt. Cmdr. Galloway (Demi Moore) objects, gets overruled and then reiterates with, "Sir, I strenuously object ..." Lt.
