To this day I still do not understand how anyone with even a shred of intelligence would have voted for Trump in 2016. I’m not a fan of Hillary either but her experience put her head and shoulders above Donald “shit for brains” Trump. He’s a guy that built and operated casinos in Atlantic City. Then in turn he bankrupted them and got out of paying the workers who built the damned place. If he couldn’t make money running a casino he has to be the dumbest SOB on the planet. He put so many family owned businesses out of business all the while sleeping like a baby at night. He’s been rotten to the core for years and somehow he gets elected as POTUS? Give me a break. I believe he had Russia’s help in hacking our election systems at the highest levels. Putin has Trump over a barrel and routinely takes a broom handle to his bung hole to keep him line. This madness needs to end and I hope it doesn’t take much longer as my patience is wearing thin.

Because Trump was more entertaining to watch than Hillary.

Edit - This isn't a knock against Hillary, guys. I'm making fun of the fact that people voted for Trump because he had the biggest stage presence lol. That's not a good thing!

I don't care for the reflexive comparison to Hitler but look at these quotes and tell me they don't apply today...

However there is some hope because the same person also said this...

How the hell would that put United States security at risk? And no, thats NOT collusion.
It doesn't lol, it just makes us enjoy the fact that the american president's foreign policy choices can be influenced by personal business. Countries should honestly line up to court his business and buy favours, american 'diplomatic values' are for sale

They are already doing that.

Kremlin confirms Michael Cohen, Trump's personal lawyer, reached out about deal

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/aug/30/kremlin-confirms-michael-cohen-donald-trumps-perso/

I regard the Kremlin's claim to be worthless. Their interest is obviously in sewing chaos in countries that aren't strictly speaking on their side, and frankly my reaction would be the same if they provided any form of evidence of those communications because when the stakes are as high as in international politics, a fair bit of money is involved (the only exception I can think of would be if they pointed the Mueller investigation towards an evidence source that is likely to be trustworthy).

It's a way for Putin to deny involvement. "They reached out to us but we didn't give them anything."

Well, other than a tour de force in the black arts of cyber crime, propaganda & disinformation in aid to Trump's election. They fucked with the minds of Americans in ways I never dreamed possible. They still are, too.

The scariest stat I've been monitoring is that despite all of the evidence being brought forth about Trump and his cabal of convicted/indicted/cooperating criminal associates, he still has a 42.5 approval rating at 538.

Question being, what's there to be so approved about? Tax cuts for the rich? GM closing plants? An upbeat economic trend he's taken credit for that Obama's policies gave birth to from the ashes of the crash the Bush and Cheney dumped in his lap? Creating friction with our closest allies when there was absolutely no reason to? Having childish rants against Kim Jong Un, then declaring they were no longer a threat after their meet and greet only to have everything go back to the way things were? That he lies so often? Being an accomplished adulterer? That he makes promises he never meant to keep?

What? Or more like.......WUT?

The only logical explanation for the Trump era that I've ever heard is that many people treat politics as entertainment (or at least that politics should be entertaining).

What difference does it make if Putin denies involvement? It's not like anyone outside of Russia who uses their brain would believe him anyway.

I'm afraid you overestimate a fair number of my fellow Americans. I'm afraid that I did, too, until Trump.

Mueller has evidence. That's he got Cohen back into court to say he lied to Congress.

Entertainment like team sports for example? I can see the plausibility in that. It's the win they're after and nothing else matters after the fact. To be associated with Trump the Winnah!! who's also an adulterer, a racist, a swindler, a cheat, a habitual liar but still as ever, a winner is "IT". Like Pete Rose getting tagged by the long arm of the law, or OJ Simpson with his die hard fans still rooting for him while in the slammer, or Mike "The Nibbler" Tyson who was a mere swallow away from being a cannibal yet having a fan base that adores him to this very day.

That could explain a few things about Trump's base. "Once a winner always a winner" in some folks eyes.

Whether true or not, this is the only administration that has mirrored the philosophy of Goebbels full time minus the dead Jews and we know the Trump administration doesn't have a big problem with that.

Nor does his supporters. It seems they wouldn't mind at all if Trump were to somehow turn our nation into a police state so long as he's in charge of it complete with state sanctioned religion, apartheid and a corrupted system of voting far worse than Putin's Russia to ensure Trump's rule in perpetuity.

Butts are really hurt this morning:

“Michael Cohen asks judge for no Prison Time.” You mean he can do all of the TERRIBLE, unrelated to Trump, things having to do with fraud, big loans, Taxis, etc., and not serve a long prison term? He makes up stories to get a GREAT & ALREADY reduced deal for himself, and get.....

....his wife and father-in-law (who has the money?) off Scott Free. He lied for this outcome and should, in my opinion, serve a full and complete sentence

Uh Oh...No pardon for YOU..Mikey..

Also... who the fuck is Scott Free? Was he the mole planted by the FBI in the campaign?
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1069614615510859776?s=19

He continues...

“I will never testify against Trump.” This statement was recently made by Roger Stone, essentially stating that he will not be forced by a rogue and out of control prosecutor to make up lies and stories about “President Trump.” Nice to know that some people still have “guts!”

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1069619316319035392?s=19

Actually, Donnie, I think Stone is essentially stating that you are guilty and he will not verify that. Otherwise, he'd essentially state "I have nothing to hide and will tell the truth"

I am not a lawyer, but lots of lawyers I follow on Twitter just shouted in unison, "Witness tampering!"
