Trump lied about taking a COVID-19 test and here is my evidence.

Trump walks into the briefing room today and announced he took a test and the results are not in yet.

Here is why I think he is lying yet again...

1. He has constantly downplayed this pandemic, calling it a hoax, not taking seriously preventative measures
2. Reporters have been asking Mike Pence for days if Trump has taken a test. Pence either ducks the question or claims not to know
3. Friday afternoon reporters cornered him and asked if he was tested. Trump tried to duck the answer, at one time claiming because he didn't personally know a person there was no need for a test. He finally agreed to maybe take a test.
4. Saturday he barges into the briefing room where the stage was filled with people and announces he has been tested and the results will be in within a few days

If someone meets the criteria for being tested that means they could be a carrier. Why would doctors allow him to walk out onto a crowded stage possibly being a COVID-19 carrier.? The White House doctor can order the President to quarantine himself until the test results come in.

Bottome line that's why I think him being tested is a hoax. We all saw Trump exposing himself to many people who tested positive. Assume he really got tested knowing Trump there is NO WAY he would ever admit to testing positive. It all fits in with his attempt at a narrative to minimize the dangers of this pandemic.


PS. The White House accounced this evening Trump tested negative. Yeah right.

You mean with symptoms that are very similar to a heavy cold/flu bug? Anything that deviated from that would be labelled by his supporters as a momentary and coincidental symptom. The closest thing to definitive proof in that respect would be a diagnosis on a death certificate, but plenty would argue that it wasn't definitive.

He's likely negative but the bizarre road to get here, the denial of his need for a test after likely exposure and the weird doctor's note, doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the decision making at work.

Most people who get covid19 experience mild symptoms. It’s entirely possible to have it and 1) not know or 2) function normally (which is part of why it spreads so easily). While Trump is in the at risk demographic, there is no evidence that he has a compromised immune system or preexisting respiratory issues. He could get it and just feel crappy for a few days and we would never know.

This virus does not require hospitalization nor is Trump bound by any quarantine. The important distinction that needs to be understood is that having COVID-19 does NOT mean having the "disease". One is hospitalized IF they are showing a certain level of symptoms. If asymptomatic or having sniffles or the like we aren't filling up beds. Quarantine simply isn't happening unless Trump decides that it applies to him which isn't likely.

So he can get away with hiding that he has the virus, but if he gets sick then it will be very difficult to keep secret.

You're missing the point. It's not about whether or not he's actually infected, it's that because of his complete lack of credibility there's little reason to be reassured by the test. Potentially if it were positive it could be leaked, I guess, and maybe would be, but again the point is more to Trump's complete lack of credibility than anything else.

We come back to our collective problem here, where people who are likely better educated than most have not yet grasped this "virus thing" as well as they might and IMO not paying attention to what means what.

Naturally, a President's health is of concern simply due to the importance of the Office and the potential for destabilization both political and economic. But if Trump lies or not is irrelevant concerning his having the virus. He lies? He's honest? It's all moot as far as I am concerned. What is important I believe is to look at him as a potential patient and observe, then go from there.

Trump lies and for some purposes, we need to get over it.
