You really think at this point he won’t be indicted? I admit there is still a remote possibility but when the NYPD is meeting with prosecutors to figure out security arrangements that strongly indicates he will be.

As far as where things go after indictment who knows. I think he will be convicted on one or more but that’s more cloudy.
Nope I do not think he will be indicted. Justice has proven time after time they don’t have the guts to do it.

While I am nearly certain he will be federally indicted too it looks likely he will be indicted on state charges next week. The DA has met with police about how to handle security.

Right now I'm leaning toward:
- Charged in New York
- DA in Georgia sacked by Republican state lawmakers before any charges filed
- Only a couple peons charged by Feds on confidential info mismanagement, Trump let off completely

My leaning is charged in all three.

People think too much about this shit. From the beginning the calculus was that he committed a bunch of crimes and the people prosecuting them have incentives to prosecute. That’s always been the beginning and end of it.

I’m still hesitant on Alvin Bragg. Like now he decides to do this? He totally squashed what Cy Vance had ready on a platter. And sadly yes this hush payment charge really politically affects the other 2 big cases.

I mean he asked for a meeting with the NYPD to discuss security in case of an indictment. I know it’s not 100% but why else would you do that?

Donald Trump said today that he will surrender if indicted. Surrender for finger-printing and whatever else they do to criminals who are indicted.
But...BUT...B U T....
Do we realize that Donald Trump wants that photo of indictment and photo of surrender to go viral among his maga followers? Can we imagine how that photo will stir up his base like never before? And we thought Jesus nailed to the cross was a biggie, just wait until Trump is nailed to an indictment.
With Trump now saying he will cooperate, we all know Trump has something up his sleeve. Trump knows how his base will react. Trump knows he can become the martyr.
If you have a Biden for President sticker on your car, I'd remove it unless you're heavily insured.

Sorry I’m not saying he’s not pursuing these charges. But why squash the Cy Vance case. And then step all over the Georgia case by bringing up such an old case unless he really is attempting to help the orange monkey. Like this guy is just fishy.

Not sure here; also why bother since the governor can always pardon trump (or any other republican convicted).

My guess? They are going to bring Trump in on the felony charge so that they can plead it down to the misdemeanor charge. Trump will pay a token fine, double jeopardy will attach, and Briggs and Trump will not have to deal with this anymore. Briggs and Trump both win, everyone else loses.

I thought he wasn't getting indicted at all? Or have you come around on that one?

I've always said that I thought the odds of it were really low, and I still think so. So far, as far as I can tell, all the info about him being charged is coming from Trump himself.
I'll withhold judgement until we see what happens, but I've just said what I think is the reason he will be charged if he is, and it is not in the interest of justice.

Even now you think his odds of indictment are really low? Really?

Regardless, your explanation dovetails with why I have always said it was obvious Trump would be indicted:

1) he's clearly committed a ton of crimes
2) it is in the political interests of prosecutors in multiple jurisdictions to charge him

We are seeing that here. We will also see it in Georgia and with the documents case.

It’s getting worse for Trump—judge says he and his lawyers officially committed a crime together:

ATTORNEY-CLIENT PRIVILEGE REVOKED.
Ruling is stayed for now, appeals are being fast tracked.

Judge approves ‘crime fraud exception’ in special counsel probe of Trump classified documents
U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell Trump’s attorney client-privilege and requiring Trump lawyer Evan Corcoran to testify before the federal grand jury.
